Lineker "Desperation for Ronaldo". Another boring match decided by bad penalties. Roll on August and real football.

This.

It's better than no football but it's sub standard shite.

Spain are not attacking with the ball, they are defending by keeping the ball. All their games are shit & it's because of them.

Tbf, I think Italy/Germany tomorrow will be a proper game then hopefully Spain will be let off the leash in the final.

You think they´ll be let off the leash Ted?

Spain have become a "win at all cost" team - coz they´ve won a couple of things the Spanish press and public now demand they become the greatest team ever, good or bad
Had that been Germany tonight they´d have been dicked

I have never in all my days come across a footballer that is so self centered as Ronaldo is. He has just made the biggest dick of himelf because he wanted to take the final and wining pen, what the fuck. Also as a captain you do not stand alone, you stand with your team mates.

Did anyone see the Denmark game when he fluffed his lines a couple of times and eventually Portugal sneeked the winner, the whole squad were in a pile on with the kid that scored, where was that twat, the captain, lay on the floor in the pentalty area alone. Its all about him and I have to say I wouldnt want anyone like that anywhere near my club.

No I don't think they'll come out & play, it's purely hope.

Great first half, rubbish second, great for ET again.

Spain have been poor by their own world class standards throughout the tournament but they've still managed to get through to the final with tonight their only scare. It's obvious they miss David Villa up top and I'm disappointed not to of seen Llorente or Mata but the chance to win three competitions in a row? Unreal.

Portugal looked really good for 45 minutes but obviously began to tire. I still feel for Ronaldo. If he relaxed and enjoyed himself a bit more he really could become the greatest in the world.

amazing....can't imagine anyone at City but Balo being so polarizing, and Balo is just on a different planet, not so far up his own ass that he is an arrogant cocksucker. He's just...well, he's Balo.

Tranny had some chances tonight, and should have done better. He was gripping it too hard...you could tell he felt the weight of the opportunity and after a good first half, the only real chances they had in the 2nd half or extra time were his, and all three times he choked, without forcing a save. Stupid really.

He's just not anyone i'd want to build a team around...for obvious reasons. But the season he just had at Madrid to unseat the "best team in the world" as league champions was amazing. it's sad that his fucked up attitude will be all that many fans remember of someone who should be the star of a generation. What a waste.

ok. I agree it has been, once again, a very poor show of negative football by Spain.
As ted pointed out above, they just defend by keeping the ball.
I still believe that most part of the shite they have been showing in this Championship is due to them missing a real CF to lead the line and open up spaces. Do You rememeber what we are talking about City in the 2 months or so before Herman came back in?
but how/why Delbosque didn't even think for a secend to line Llorente is way beyond my understanding.

once said that, You'd all pardon me, but I'm so chuffed of the final output, that grin on Tranny's cuntface made my night, indeed. also I hate that f***g dirty Mourinho's way of play.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

If I managed Spain, and it's probably great for them that I don't, I'd go for a 442. I usually prefer a packed five man midfield but with Spain... they're just so good. I kind of feel they're being held back by dogmatism, I.E. the 433 or 451, whichever way you see it. They are by far the best team at defending and have been since 2009ish. They could make the 442 work without regular wingers and then they could run their opponents ragged by throwing through balls at Llorente/Torres/Mata/Pedro in more classical forward-roles. This is how they did it in 2008 and at that point it really worked well and they're way better now. I'm disappointed I guess. They have so much potential and now they're just boring.

It's a strange world when Spain have started to bore people and Germany makes people excited.

I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

It's not their defence which stops teams though, their defence is shit, it's the fact that they have 8- 10 men behind the ball even when they are 'attacking'. It's the absolute ultimate in negativity & just as much a boil on the arse of football as Tony Pulis & Stoke.

Last night, it may have been the end of normal time or extra time, they deliberately hit a corner long, so that Portugal wouldn't get it & break away, then passed it all the way back to their own keeper. That's because their manager had elected not to have a striker in the team by then so they had no threat from any set pieces. I recon Potato Head only started that no-mark up front in place of Torres & Lllorente because he didn't want either of them to play well & fuck up his plan by becoming undroppable.

I find it hard to understand why Mata and Llorente (especially Mata) have not featured so far for Spain. They even started Negredo (which for me was the first time I'd heard his name) and still Llornete could not get a minute on the pitch !!

That's all well and good but the fact is they're World and European champions, in the final of a third compeition in a row, coach has won 51 of 60, have revolutionised the way they play and encouraged, along with Barca, a whole style of football to be admired throughout the world.

There's no doubt that they were more exciting in '08 but they've developed into a team who only care about winning and they're pretty good at it.

Yes no doubt about that. I was merely writing from an entertainment point of view. The team they have now and have had since 2008 is one of the best national teams in history when it comes to achievements and as I said, really good at defending which I don't think they get enough cred for.
