This.
It's better than no football but it's sub standard shite.
Spain are not attacking with the ball, they are defending by keeping the ball. All their games are shit & it's because of them.
Tbf, I think Italy/Germany tomorrow will be a proper game then hopefully Spain will be let off the leash in the final.

You think they´ll be let off the leash Ted?
Spain have become a "win at all cost" team - coz they´ve won a couple of things the Spanish press and public now demand they become the greatest team ever, good or bad
Had that been Germany tonight they´d have been dicked

Did anyone see the Denmark game when he fluffed his lines a couple of times and eventually Portugal sneeked the winner, the whole squad were in a pile on with the kid that scored, where was that twat, the captain, lay on the floor in the pentalty area alone. Its all about him and I have to say I wouldnt want anyone like that anywhere near my club.

That picture answers the question raised in the David Brightwell thread.

Spain have been poor by their own world class standards throughout the tournament but they've still managed to get through to the final with tonight their only scare. It's obvious they miss David Villa up top and I'm disappointed not to of seen Llorente or Mata but the chance to win three competitions in a row? Unreal.

If I managed Spain, and it's probably great for them that I don't, I'd go for a 442. I usually prefer a packed five man midfield but with Spain... they're just so good. I kind of feel they're being held back by dogmatism, I.E. the 433 or 451, whichever way you see it. They are by far the best team at defending and have been since 2009ish. They could make the 442 work without regular wingers and then they could run their opponents ragged by throwing through balls at Llorente/Torres/Mata/Pedro in more classical forward-roles. This is how they did it in 2008 and at that point it really worked well and they're way better now. I'm disappointed I guess. They have so much potential and now they're just boring.
It's a strange world when Spain have started to bore people and Germany makes people excited.

That's all well and good but the fact is they're World and European champions, in the final of a third compeition in a row, coach has won 51 of 60, have revolutionised the way they play and encouraged, along with Barca, a whole style of football to be admired throughout the world.
There's no doubt that they were more exciting in '08 but they've developed into a team who only care about winning and they're pretty good at it.
