just been a portugese expert on 5live saying avb wants to sign mouthino from porto, but would have to pay 27 million to get him, also stated that hulk to chelsea looks on, if so porto would,nt need to sell mouthino, he reckons spurs would proably have to sell van de vart and modric to accrue the money.

does the "portugese expert" have a name? Or is he just a mystery man, hearing all the gossip while lurking in the shadows

Terrific...more humourless, irritable interviews to look forward to from football's most sensitive ego.

I think that as long as they are patient with him he'll do very well. It'll be quite the culture shock going from a manager just sending them out to play to one with a bit of tactical nous.

I rate him. I thought the Chelsea job was a year too early, but with less expectation and the opportunity to build a side in his image, he'll eventually do well.

Quite the opposite actually. His problems with Chelsea stemmed from the fact that he tried to mould the team to play the way he likes and make changes. Terry and Lampard were having none of it so he was goner. With Spuds, unfortunately, he has more room to operate and he really is fantastic young up and coming manager and if they show patience in few years they will cause trouble to us and rest of the league.

Massive massive upgrade on 'Arry.

Spurs fans? Patient? Juande Ramos might disagree. Ditto Christian Gross.

I hope they get relegated.

I had no ITK source for Laurent Blanc, by the way. Just a vague feeling. Maybe he'll to the filth when baconface's liver finally gives out.

I do think AVB is a talented coach, and it just goes to show what total shitheads lampard, terry and the rest of that ugly fat crew are.

IF he is given some time and control, he'll do well. He'll shape the team and at the very least they'll have a bit more tactical nous then during harry's reign.

I wonder where they are getting the cash for this transfer war chest he's apparently being given? Modric/Bale gone? Think they'll spend some dough on Ade?

You would think so but AVB seemed to be going down the Hughes path of trying to concentrate on attack first & defence second whilst at Chelsea, with similar problems (fullbacks getting caught forward at the wrong time etc). Usually managers who do that end up sacked by impatient fans/bosses unless at small clubs. Will he try it again ?
