Made up about this, done a great job so far and long may it continue. In my opinion he is a going to become legendary, if he isn't already. Only problem I can possibly see with this is the length of the contract. It's all good if it's all good, but what if we haven't won the chumps league in a couple of seasons. Yes, I know we have the money but don't wanna be throwing it away do we? Or am I just being a bit "typical city"?

Good news no doubt about that! I like the man and he's a clever one and won't buy Fergies antics.

Patience, it's all about patience.

We haven't given him such a long contract to make it appealing to him, it's all down to letting others know that he is there for the long-haul. Five years to fight for the CL, gives Mancini 2 to prove, 3 to get to the final.

Might be a touch of irony to the post about getting KK.

It's a cup competition with an element of chance, obsession with winning it could send us down the same path as Chelsea. We mustn't do that.

Indeed Beefy, even if it were to go sour (God forbid), we would have a clause in there similar to AVB's i.e. we'd only pay his wages until he got another job & Bobby Manc would walk into another job ASAP, none of your Sven type debacles for us from now on,

This is truly GREAT news for us, as someone already mentioned, when was the last time we extended a managerial contract??

I am confident he can deliver and the beauty being that the rags will be on the look out for a replacement for the old soak sooner rather than later, we are now at minimum on a par with the rags if not better than them (on current performance). So when time comes for them to need a new manager we will be in a stronger position and them on the back foot of trying to fill Taggarts boots. Whoever that turns about to be (regardless of who it is) it will take a long time to get their heads round it.

Whinger and the Gooners appear to be in turmoil at board level.
Chelski: i really dont think Di Matteo being their long term solution
Scouse 1: Brendan Rogers, i personally think it is a step too soon for him at a "big club"
rags: really think they will struggle unless they spend big (have they got anything coming through from their academy?)
Spuds: Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

Fookin onwards and upwards!!!!!

He comes from Italy, to manage Man City, Mancini, Whoaoao, Mancini, Whoaoao

Same as the Rags gave Baconface would do, that would take Mancini to the end of the next 5 year contract after this one.

Really good news and Sir Roberto is thoroughly deserving of it. As for talk of Champions Lge, it's a cup competition and will take time. Patience is required and it is important we don't do a Chelsea and over-react when we don't win it or have a trophyless season. In Mancini we trust.

Well as you know I think he's got his faults and I think we'll see more of them. But you know what they say, if you cant be a good manager, be a lucky manager, and Bob's certainly been that, though a good one as well.Hopefully this season will see him turning out better prepared cup teams and developing a strategy v the bus parkers. Home form will look after itself with that squad. Now for Everton away!lol

Of course Mancini has his faults...and we'll see plenty of them next season, as we saw them this season. Mancini is human and screwing up is NOT a design flaw, it's what we do...me and funnily enough you too. The gig is that he made less of them last season than his nearest rivals and we became Champions.

Why should the things that went wrong be attributed to him, whilst his successes be down to luck?

The one thing I have discovered is the harder I work, the luckier I get.
-Samuel Goldwyn.

Those who attribute good fortune though endeavour as "luck" are small minded petty people and not worth your time John. And whatever flaws were exposed this season, not a single one of them made Mancini give ground on his plan, his ideals and his work. Can you think of another manager who would take the brunt of those "the season is over" jokes on purpose in order to shift focus from his players? Knows it could bite him in the arse, knows the media are going to take the piss out of him, does it anyway.

Champion.
