Still not convinced, are u mad?! We won the league last season and the the FA CUP season before and weve seen him bring players like yaya and aguero in 2 game changers and 2 of the best players in the league! Still not convinced? His tactical decisons last season shown how decisive he can be when needed! Yeah the money is madness these days but have faith man!

Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think the last time we extended a manager's contract was not as long ago as you all think...

I think it Pearce?!

Pearce didn't sign a contract originally. so his extension was in fact his first contract.

Good news. We are now set to benefit from solid foundations being laid by Mansour and Khaldoon for the future. So excited about the years to come. I have confidence in Bob to continue our upward trajectory. Roll on August.

Mancini is human and screwing up is NOT a design flaw, it's what we do...me and funnily enough you too. The gig is that he made less of them last season than his nearest rivals and we became Champions.

Why should the things that went wrong be attributed to him, whilst his successes be down to luck?

The one thing I have discovered is the harder I work, the luckier I get.
-Samuel Goldwyn.

Those who attribute good fortune though endeavour as "luck" are small minded petty people and not worth your time John. And whatever flaws were exposed this season, not a single one of them made Mancini give ground on his plan, his ideals and his work. Can you think of another manager who would take the brunt of those "the season is over" jokes on purpose in order to shift focus from his players? Knows it could bite him in the arse, knows the media are going to take the piss out of him, does it anyway.

Champion.

Bob is certainly human and will err, as humans do. Looking forward to another year of love hate with him. Best manager we've ever had in my opinion, but so he should be, cos he's the second higest paid in the world. Check out Mercer and Allisons salaries if to want, £60 quid a week.Which is why I aint gonna deviate from judging Bob on his merits.Too old to change now, ha

Is Wenger the highest paid manager in the world then? I thought Maureen was. Still it's a tasty contract that Mancini has been given/earnt

So as the details emerge ... Mancini is now the highest paid Premier League manager at an annual salary of £7.5m, which surpasses even Wenger (£7.2m) and of course Ferguson (£6.5m).

Earlier he was at £5m and behind Fergie and it was reported that he'd cross over Fergie in pay but would be around £7m mark just behind Wenger ... but I guess Khaldoon and The Sheikh don't do anything in second place.

I reckon it's just a made up figure by the press tbh, just because they print it, it doesn't make it true. Some of them would even print different results of matches if they thought they could get away with it.

Mancini now 3rd in Football Manager's rich list.

1. Jose Mourinho - Real Madrid - £11.2m
2. Diego Maradona - Al Wasl - £9.9m
>> Was at 3. >> Pep Guardiola - Barcelona - £8.7m
3. Roberto Mancini - Manchester City - £7.5m
4. Arsene Wenger - Arsenal - £7.2m
5. Carlo Ancelotti - Paris Saint-Germain £6.9m

I've always thought that a club keeping the same manager led to stagnation as in the case of Arse and Neverton. Its when managers first arrive at a club that they tend to win things. People keep going on about how long bacon has been at the rags bit IMO he is a bit of a one off.
During everyone's career, they will go through motivation and stagnation phases. Motivated employees are out there working hard to make it happen everyday. But, it is difficult for anyone to be motivated in their career all the time. And I think once an employee has the security of a long contract the desire to win things, fades.Motivation is fueled by the desire to do well and the personal satisfaction of a job well-done. Motivated employees help the organization grow and succeed. However, motivation may wane over time if working conditions change or if the employee gets bored, or are put in the position that they are secure.

So after a couple of years, managers are either crap for having not won anything, or complacent from having won something, and should either be prepared to sign a rolling contract or be sacked on the spot.
"Certainly our programme is a full one, but as a player and as a manager I've always felt that there is only one way to go into a season...and that's to try to win every game.... While we are in four major competitions we shall try to win four major competitions." - Joe Mercer
