OS Videos - Problems

Postby ant london » Mon Jul 09, 2012 3:48 pm

OK....I have no idea why this is but from about a week after the end of the season I can no longer properly watch videos on the OS.

They load up and play but the playback is all fucked up, the screen keeps going green, then really distorted then comes back ok then fucked up again.

Now, I thought that the problem was the internet in Egypt but I'm back in the UK using Vodafone mobile internet on my lappie and the same problem here.

I can stream other things no problem whatsoever....so I don't get what's going on here?

Anyone shed any light on the problem and how I might fix??

Cheers all

I think they identify from IP addresses if you're a VIP or not, and you probably qualify for the 3D service.
get a pair of those 3D glasses and wear them when on the OS and you'll be right as rain.
Apparently you also have to capture a picture of yourself in the glasses with your webcam and post it here for it to work.
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Have you tried updating your flash player? Maybe clearing your cache, deleting cookies & all that nonsense?

Thanks Alex....so the issue could be my V IP address? Have I understood that correctly?

3D glasses you say...oh now this all sounds quite straightforward, where have I put that camera??

Italian Job....I shall try all that now

It's more helpful if you include what browser/operating system you're using.

I have the exact same thing with the OS & some other sites that stream video, such as the Independent (every page) & MUEN (occasionally).

The giveaway is that the laptop fan cranks up until its really loud.

I've tried all sorts & concluded that its one of those things & that the most important thing I learnt after many many hours attempting to resolve was:

Use Firefox for OS - It works fine for me

Please let me know if you resolve!

Chrome just has problems with Flash player in general. I use Chrome as my main browser, but have been switching to Firefox for online videos a lot recently.

Ant,
Go with the Alex suggestion but ensure you are only dressed in undercruds and carpet slippers. The reflective photo you take to post on here must have hi definition for it all to work properly.

Good luck mate.

fuck i was just about to suggest you smash your PC which is your usually response to technical devices and the challenges they present. That would have sorted it as well. Think about it next time please.

cheers

While we're on the subject, does anyone have any idea why I can't get OS video to play full screen. It used to work, but now the full screen button doesn't do anything. Apart from that theyu play fine.
