Edin out the door?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Either you are very young, very stupid, or very foreign. English football did not start with the Premier League (which Arsenal have won as many times as Chelsea). In terms of 'success', Arsenal, pale in comparison to Liverpool.

Arsene Wenger is far, far and away the best-paid manager in the league. That's the only way you keep him there. Without him, Arsenal have nothing to offer to youngsters- I bet you're not aware that Arsenal prided themselves on their reputation for 'boring' football before he came along? Hardly the kind of club to continue Wenger's legacy of nurturing young talent (taken from other clubs) once he leaves.

Of course, but he was born in a town located in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Doesn't make him Bosnian tho. He's as Bosnian as Prosinecki is German. Same goes for Stanic.

Savo Milosevic, as well...

Us for players fom Bosnia mass of them steel Croatia and Serbia after the war becose the Bosnia in that time have shit Fotball Federation , there is the story that father of Zlatan Ibrahimovic offer our stupidos to play for junior selection BiH and that idiots refused now its much harder for Serbia and Croatia to stell players like that at list in Fottball becose Bosnia is good and have better F.F. yes Stanic , Miloševic, Čorluka and for that hes Bosnian like Prosinecki is German i dont get that u know Stanic carear and where he leve he play for Zeljeznicar Sarajevo so that compere is wrong , he is like some Brasilian player chose to play for some other country becouse Stanic is born and live and play in Bosnia for long time.

They didn't steal anyone, those players chose to play for another national team. Sure, Stanic could've chosen BiH & it would've been fine, but it's just as plausible he opted for Croatia.

If place of birth & time spent were the only things that mattered then Misimovic should play for Germany, Spahic & Mujdza for Croatia, Jahic for France... you get the drift.

It's not as easy as you make it out. Who should Neven Subotic play for? Serbia? BiH? Germany? USA? Bound to upset someone...

I think this is where the line between politics and football becomes too blurred.

Misimovic and Prosinecki's situations arise from Germany's gostarbeiter system. Most recent examples are due to the Yugoslav wars.

Stanic chose Croatia because Bosnia was in the middle of a war when he was in his prime. He needed to play football, and wasn't going to play for Serbia. I agree, players weren't 'stolen', they were offered a carte blanche (in most cases) of nations, and chose whichever appealed most to them, for whatever reason.

Later players have chosen their countries for ethno-nationalistic reasons, on all sides of the borders. Likewise, gostarbeiters/diaspora who have stayed abroad have instilled a greater level of nationalism in their children, who in turn want to represent their 'ancestral homeland'.

Paradoxically, in Bosnia's case, this may be put a stop to by another political twist at the end of the year: http://www.setimes.com/cocoon/setimes/x ... feature-03

Mods, can you give Leon Arsehead his own thread please? I hope Ian wright checks in to check it out too.

Funnily enough, arseheads comments weren't too dissimilar to ours of 5-10 years ago. Still you have to laugh when the comment comes from one of the "haves" rather than a "have not."

This is the kind of thing that makes me fucking sick about you cunts who can't think of anything other than the fucking Premier League.

All you consider is how it's not fair on YOU, that City have money & we take YOUR players. You don't give a flying fuck about when you and those other cunts in the 'elite' group were carving up football so that clubs like City would never, ever, ever be able to compete with your Champion's League money & never be able to sign top players because they demand Champions League and you cunts had it sewn up.

How smug you all were when you turned up with all those young players you'd stolen from other people's youth systems (people with less MONEY THAN YOU) & you beat a City team made from kids & cheap players. Oh how WONDERFUL IT ALL WAS.

Did you give a fuck about Sheffield Wednesday or City ? DID YOU FUCK.

Your club helped create this system. Tough fucking shit, we are here for the rest of your fucking life. Take it.

Take a bow, son. Take a bow.

Did Sol Campbell join Araenal for the history or the £100k a week? Wonder what our top earners were on back then, but hey, Arsenal is just another club who built everything without money.

Doubt old Leon will have one, but if he did, how much would his season ticket be? £900+. Nice. Mine was less than £450, despite going up a bit this season. And I get to see a decent side every week, not just when one of the top teams turn up.

Leon really is a grade a knob isn't he. Has no brain whatsoever. Probably just a 12 year old who's still crying because all the arsenal players want to leave their failure of a club who's only ambition is to do better than the spuds. If they actually aimed higher maybe their players would stay, but highly unlikely as everybody wants to come to the champions!

A 300 m stadium which shits alllllll over your manure patch and if you google the richest clubs in the world we are. 4 th so we are financially stable . You will eat your words as we are a bulb built on tradition were in it for the long haul your success ( If you get any more ) will be short lived financial fair play and to be honest there's too many egos at your club you have tevez who doesn't even want to play for you anymore, balotelli who in a word is a cunt , Adebaupr fell out as did Bellamy .

So if you're the fourth richest club in the world, why are you complaining about poor little City's money. Surely that was your gripe in the first place. Or are you getting confused?

Leon,

You're posts are a little difficult to read, so either you're foreign, in which case, well done with your English and we'll try to read what you meant. Or you're English, in which case, your English is appalling and you should really be studying rather than staying up late.

Anyway, yes, you got lots of money off us for Adebayor and Kolo (plus Nasri and Clichy). So why are you so bitter about it? As you've pointed out, success brings more money, as it did for us last season when we earned the most from PL prize money and TV appearances. Add into that Champions League money from last season plus this and we're becoming richer, just like every other top 4 club has always done since the format of the competitions changed.

The thing is, I don't see where your money goes. Consistent champions league and top 4 money, plus all those transfer earnings. Then tickets - you're only 10,000 less than the rags, yet your season tickets are much more expensive, so I suspect that your gate receipts are the highest in the country. Yet apparently you can't compete in the transfer market. Something doesn't quite add up.

As for FFP, brilliant isn't it? You see without it, the Sheikh could have kept pouring his own money in and then, I'd he got bored, we'd have been in all sorts of trouble. But thanks to people like Wenger complaining, we've got to have a sustainable, independent business that generates enough to cover costs. So if the Sheikh does decide to walk away, it won't be a problem, as the club will be self-financing. So FFP has kept other clubs from threatening us by doing what we did and has made sure that we remain as part of that elite group who earn a fortune. So I'd relax, as we're going to be above you for quite a while.

From profits you fool ! We don't just chuck money at whoever is playing well ! Nice to know you adopt good policy's at your club yeah we can't be assed developing players lets just buy cavani and leave vladimir viess ( who is actually decent ) to rot in the reserves cz we are city and we just buy whoever we want because we need immediate success to challenge with the traditional top 4 big boys
