Balzaretti

Balzaretti

Would anyone fancy that Italian left back, Balzaretti, in our team ??

Not sure how good he is defensively (better/worse than Kolarov ??) but, in the Euros, he looked fast, mobile and aggressive when going forward with quite a nice left foot. Seemed to be a Bobby Manc type player who would easily fit into our system.

I quite liked him and, on balance, wouldn't mind if we were to sign him, though I don't suppose we will.

Apparently the only place he is willing to leave Palermo for, is PSG (his other half works in Paris). Maybe the Shiekh could get her a job in Manchester though... (just had a look, he seems a bit old for us at 30)

Add to that, I still would fancy keeping Kolarov than going for him. The main reason for that is his age.

We don't need a left back ffs.
Clitchy has been one of the outstanding perfortmers last season, Kolorov is a decent backup to him.

Good hair. Get him in, get Georgios back and that left side will look a triumph.

I think Balzaretti can even play on CB , i like how he play on Euro but De Rossi would be great.

Apologies for making a posting which, ostensibly, irks you, but it has been a long, miserable, boring summer waiting for the new Premier League season to commence, so I'll have to plead that as a defence.

Interesting comment about Kolarov's back-up status though; I never thought I'd see the words "Kolarov" and "decent" used in the same sentence and in conjunction with each other. However, IF the reports I was listening to on the wireless yesterday have any foundation (and they probably don't), it would seem that AC Milan want him for a fee of about £6m, so a new back-up left sided defender might have to become a necessity, unless anyone from the junior ranks will be able to fulfil this requirement.

Bob won't let Kolarov go for half his value.

I suspect you realise the futility of using big words when trying to communicate with morons isn't lost on you. Perhaps, if Kolarov is tempted away we could lure Psycho our of retirement?
