Possibly a bit harsh. Do you know every capital city in the world? Austria may be a bit more important for us Europeans, but why the fuck would an Argie be remotely interested in capital cities of European countries? Especially shit, boring ones like Austria? Never actually visited, but drove past Vienna a couple of times and it looked like a big Middlesbrough.

If I've been in a country for a week, I'd expect to know the capital. But since he's a footballer, I'll give him some slack. However, I don't know the capital of Uzbekistan off the top of my head, but i sure as hell wouldn't guess that the capital of Uzbekistan is Uzbekistan. I also wouldn't guess the capital of Bolivia to be Bolivia or the capital of Peru to be Peru. If you think that's harsh to laugh at, then you've been hanging around too many brain dead idiots.

Genuinely curious, is any country's capital the name of that country?

Singapore is a city, capital and also a country and then they have a few other cities but technically they are just suburbs of the same big city (or country) ...

Same case with Bahrain (but now they are promoting Manama as their capital, which actually was just a suburb ...)

Genuine city in itself is Kuwait City as capital of Kuwait ... but there too it's always referred to as Kuwait City and not just as Kuwait!

These are the more common well known ones but I am sure there would be a few smaller countries maybe in Africa or some islands where this could be the case ...

But I still agree, he is a dimwit ... I haven't seen the interview so maybe he said it a bit tongue in cheek?

We all know he's a fucking caveman.

Would you be bothered if Kate Upton said something similar?

If he was American he'd probably be a Republican preidential candidate...

Never said it bothered me, don't know where you got that from. Just continually amazed by his level of retardation

In fairness I'd say a fair proportion of Europeans would struggle with central and south American capitals
