Gotta admire this UAE team. Played together and coached by the same person since they were seventeen and it really shows. That Omar looks a player too. With Ted on this - he'd be worth a punt!

Meanwhile, Elfsborg are beating Dacia Chisinau 2-0 in the UEFA Cup.

He's obviously got talent & doesn't mind running about.

Would cost next to fuck all I bet. Got to be worth a look.

David Silva has rarely played a better pass than that assist, it's brilliant.

From an Egyptian perspective - which I know is not necessarily representative of the whole Mid East but on the basis that Egypt has about as many people in it as the rest of the region (minus Saudi) put together we can probably say that it's not far off - there are some very very talented kids and young footballers.

The only problem is (and this is coming from friends who run English club's scouting/coaching setups in the country) is that there are common issues in that:

The local lads are not very receptive to coaching
Shit discipline in general
Poor work/training ethic
Not very good team players in a majority of cases....love a bit of individual glory...very skillful but will always try beat a man too many rather than looking for the easy ball and moving into space for the return

there are clearly exceptions but a lot of very gifted and potentially successful players ruin their potential by a combination of the above.

On this one half though, they seem to have a good work ethic & a nice individual freedom mixed with team play. Could be a one off of course.

If Edin played some of the passes to the oppo which Cavani has today, he'd get slaughtered.

Omar is blowing out his arse a bit his half but is still getting some great touches away. He has got talent, there is no doubt.

Reading this post made me realise that it is a bit surprising that the owners have not pushed to plant some UAE players at City especially at youth levels where they can gain some serious experience.
The Kuwaiti bloke who bought Forest has already sent a couple of players to trial with them.
Although I don't follow the local football scene closely, there are quite a few young players who with good skills and a lot of raw talent and Omar is a very good example.
