I don't know mate, I've quite enjoyed it.

We know who we want and it's just a matter of time. Our targets are only just getting back off their holibobs I'd suggest, we're not shopping at Aldi now.

You can get some good quality bargains at your local Aldi. You can also travel further, and end up buying crap from Waitrose ;-)

On a vaguely related topic (and because I'm a newbie so can't start a new thread!) I've been contemplating (always dangerous at my age!!!) the relative merits of Micah and Pablo, and the need or as I believe not to recruit another right back?

I appreciate they are different kinds of players - Pablo is a very technically able, traditional full back while Micah is more in the mould of the new genre of wing back - with his trade mark surging forward runs, etc. However, both are exceptionally committed players and always give 110% in games!

But who should be the number ONE pick? Do we need a different kind of RB?

Having supported the Blues since I was 9 (now 55!) I've seen some brilliant right backs but I thought I'd ask the question?

Richards or Zabs?

Whose your first choice and why?

What happened to Skrtyl?

It does make me smile knowing all the angst that Lawro and Hansen are going through.

On another note, I've just read that Barca may be after Kolo!

New Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova has been keen on strengthening his backline this summer, and after failing to land his primary targets, is ready to seal a cut-price deal for Manchester City veteran Kolo Toure.

Toure has received significantly lesser gametime since returning from his six-month professional suspension, and has been keen on moving to another club in order to boost his first-team opportunities.

The 31-year old, who is also being targeted by Turkish outfit Bursaspor and Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, would bring with him a wealth of experience, with Barcelona keen on utilising the player’s versatility and use the Ivorian to plug the gaps in their backline whenever required.

Toure could be sold on the cheap by City, who want to free up a squad position and reduce their wage bill of Toure’s £120,000-a-week salary.

The Catalan club are looking to exploit just that, with Vilanova ready to submit a bid for the Ivorian later this week.

Barcelona are also hopeful that a good word from former Blaugrana man and Kolo Toure’s brother Yaya will be enough for Kolo to choose the La Liga club.

City on the other hand are considering the purchase of Liverpool centre-half Daniel Agger, and will pursue the Dane’s signature if Toure can be offloaded.

Cheers JC, interesting to hear they are mainly backing the club stance over player issues but I'd suggest they are making a mountain out of a mole hill here.

He signed a 5 year contract, what, 3 weeks ago yet they try to infer there's problems already. I'm sure all parties no where they stand.

Can we just have a swap of our top tv pundit Brian with this other smart bloke Honie_sting?
Sure as hell it would change very little: both of them have fuck all an idea of what the job of sporting director at a football club is.

and yes, my dear Watson, ain't it much different from all the shit thrown at Mancini by the red tinted media since Ol' Whisky Nose realised that someone fit to bring professionalism on each and every depts. at MCFC took charge?
How many ages ago were when it took 15 minutes and a goal conceded to have a bendage on Zabba injured front head, for an instance?

Zabs finished as the form player, he kept Micah out on merit after Micah recovered from his injury. He also showed last season that he is developing into a more versatile attacking fullback with Bob's help. I hope to see his game continue to develop this season. Plenty of game time for both of them given how demanding that position is under Bob's system though, and hopefully they will both improve with some friendly competition for a starting spot.
