Arsenal's transfers

Postby Blue_Manc » Fri Aug 03, 2012 5:03 pm

Arsenal are doing some serious business in this transfer window IMO. Podolski, Djourou, Carzola and apparently they are after Sahin. I think these are decent additions to their squad and I feel that they could mount a decent challenge. What does everyone think?

Arsenal at their best last season were almost on par with us. Their problem is depth and consistency. I don't think what they've brought in will make them challenge for the title, but they will defo be a better team. Just getting Podolsky in instead of that twat Arshavin is a massive improvement. Oh, and you forgot Giroud, who I think will be doing quite well in England.

I presumed 'djourou' was just a terrible attempt at spelling 'Giroud' as they already have a Djourou, and to be fair on him its pronounced in a similar way.

It's not often that i disagree with you Mr. Nool , but Podolski is rubbish, sure he might get to score a goal, but no way is this guy good .

I thought they didn't buy players and that it was just us bringing the game to it's knees.

Wenger doing his wheeler dealing again, looking like he's spending a fortune when in reality those 3 additions will cost less than 35 mil. They are now reportedly asking 20 mil for Van Pussy and looking for at least 10 for Arshavin. Add this to their dribs and drabs and you'll find that Wenger won't have spent a penny but pretended to have strengthened (when most will realise he hasn't).

The blokes a fraud who has allowed the suits to force the average fan out and that is why they get away with so much. No real passion on the terraces, just full of limp-dicked wanna-be's who think the whole point of football is about them being there.

Can't stand the cunts and only a few that I'd share a pint with, pretentious little shithouses!

I can honestly say that due to my lack of European knowledge I thought Giroud was a class striker but now feel that I am wrong.

Sure they have strengthened ... but that's a problem for the scum not us ... the way I see this season panning out, Chelsea will give us direct competition for the title and Arsenal can fight out the 3rd/4th spot with them ... unfortunately I don't think Tottenham (or Newcastle for that matter) will be as good as they were last season but hell if they too (and maybe Liverpool) come to the party, there will be an interesting battle from the 3rd to the 7th spot ...

And come to think of it, we won't need 89 points to win the league either ...

always providing that a miracle is gonna happen in shape of either:

a) Marwood grow up and learn how to sign either De Rossi or javi Martinez, who can both provide back-up for the CB roles and Yaya
or
b) no serious injuries/long term bans shall affect VK/JL and a light, very convenient injury will prevent Yaya to leave for attending ACoN

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

I think they've made some good moves. Giroud and Podolski...and now Cazorla. But that doesn't help their shit defense and goalie.
Vermaelen and Koscielny aren't that great. Their left back sucks too and Sagna keeps breaking his legs.

Imo:

Back 5
Song
Wilshire/Ramsey/Arteta
Walcott Cazorla Podolski
Giroud

12th man: The Ox

Gervinho is a waste

Arsenal would need to make up 19 point to match our total last year, and I think we will improve our points total even if we don't sign anyone.

They would need to spend A LOT more and get extremely lucky by signing some French children who have the balls to stand up in the EPL.

Chelsea need to make up 25 points, they lost 10 games at home last season (should have been 11 if we'd got that Silva pen) Part of that was the players not engaging with the manager so its a slightly false position, but even so, all those new players need to gel. Lampard and Terry need to make sure their managerial skills are better than last season, plus they have lost Drogba who always shit me up.

I agree that Podolski is no world beater. And he's usually better in the national team than for his club. But he's still classes better than that Russian waste of space.

my arsenal mates are good guys who have supported the club since they were small children. Even my Caribbean friends, who all seem to love the Arse, are good folks. In fact, these days, tho it wasn't true a decade ago, here in the States you rarely come across an "American" Arsenal fan....it's the filth and scouse whom the gloryhunters like to support. Sometimes Chelsea as well.

In fact, off topic, i met a very casual acquaintance who has pretended to support Spurs for the last 2-3 years, after pretending to support Liverpool for a few years before that who announced to me, that....he is a City supporter! Now, he knows I am, and have been since he met me about 7 years ago, but he told me this with a straight face, and then REMEMBERED that i support City, and kinda hemmed and hawwed and said "Well Spurs AND CIty...i like to yknow support a team that can play in Europe and that i can follow and yknow Spurs aren't going to be in Champions League all the time, so....i'm following City too, and always kinda have."

yeah....alrighty then.

Let's just hope he buys his fat ginger kid some City gear so that we can fucking buy a goddam player this window, back on topic, like Arsenal have!

Cheers
viVa el ciTy!
