Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Stuart Taylor

Postby Wooders » Mon Aug 06, 2012 5:44 pm

has been released and is on trial at Reading

I can't find a thread on here - nor do I recall seeing anything on the OS so it maybe a bit of an FYI for some on here - I didn't know until I noticed he wasn't in the GK section of the OS !

We let him go last season (I reckon for FFPR) and signed him again not long afterwards. Look at Panti though with the likes of Erikson coming through, its understandable.

Actually we offered him a new deal which he rejected.

Guess he wants a shot at playing. Can't blame him really.

a shot at playing?! stuart taylor?!! have you seen how many games he's played in the last 5 years?? no way he is signing anywhere to get game time. my guess is that we offered him a reduced contract, he turned it down and will now pocket a nice signing on fee when he joins reading or whoever on a free...

I think you're being unfair to him, I'm willing to believe he wants to play. We probably had an idea of his worth (as third choice) that he just didn't agree with, so we agreed to go our separate ways.

For what?

Credit to the feller though. Sweetest job in the world for about decade having done fuck all, earning nice money and even getting winners medals. This guy had the life figured out.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

He seemed to be well liked by Joe and rest of the players. I always had the impression he acted more like a keeper coach than direct competition for Joe and Pants

Good for him. Spend your life hanging around footballers, keeping fit in A1 facilities with top notch medical care and getting top brass. Sign me up.

My youth was wasted playing indoor cricket. If only..

He is one of my life heroes, always makes me laugh to think of him training mon-fri then waving the lads off on a friday to go home and spend the weekend spending his cash. this genius has a premiership medal from his time at arsenal!

He seems popular with the lads, think i even seen him with the premier league trophy! As someone said hes more of a goalkeeping coach than a genuine player, in the training videos hes constantly talking and encouraging, if it wasnt for this and his banter, he would of been gone a long time ago!
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy steals a wage wherever he go's. His biggest contribution comes in the match warm ups when he helped Joe and Panti warm up by crossing a few balls etc. fuck me I'll do that for 8k a week. Good riddance!

Thanks for being part of the squad that won the Premier League in 2012, big help to the other keepers on the training pitch

Or

*Thanks* -sarcasm- for the HUGE contribution.

Take your pick

You could see in all the Tunnel Cam and training videos on the OS that his job for the past year has been a coach to Joe and Costel. And like others have said he seemed well liked, not just with them but other squad members too.

I don't begrudge him moving for the money, he knows hes never going to play so why not get the best deal out of it. I remember Carlo Nash moving from Everton to Stoke and coming out and basically saying - i know i've no chance of playing but Stoke were offering more money than everton and i've a family to look after.
