I won't be unhappy if we make signings Doomster, just think we are in an incredibly strong position even if we don't. We have enough midfield options not to worry about Barry that much too. Aguero will be even better this season, Nasri will have settled in, Balo will be more consistent, Dzeko more hungry, Tevez more present, Silva can be kept fresher as Nasri improves and with Tevez able to play his role too, Boyata has experience now, even Pants looks like a reliable backup. The only sensible conclusion is that we are going to be better this season than last.

Socs, you could also look at the midfield this way: Dejong is on his way out the door, Barry runs like he has concrete boots, Yaya will be missing for six weeks again and Milner looks ordinary at best. Can't argue with any of that. Some extra options out wide and cover at CB would be nice, but they can wait until January if we're not finding the right players at the right price.
