re: javi martinez. have to say i've been thoroughly unimpressed when i've watched him for club and country recently. de rossi is fantastic but aging and expensive. would rather see us get m'villa, tbh.

About the last five or maybe more times I've seen him, he's been absolute dogshite & I believe he was even worse for Spain in the Olympics.

Visti i grandi investimenti del Psg, il Manchester City vuole assolutamente rinforzare la rosa in vista della prossima Champions League e De Rossi è l'obiettivo primario". I giallorossi ora dovranno capire bene se cedere o meno il calciatore, Capitan Futuro, uno degli idoli dei tifosi della Roma. Morabito è sicuro di una cosa: "La società ci sta davvero pensando e non è sbagliato visto che De Rossi va per i 30 anni. E' un'operazione da fare ma il problema della Roma è l'ambiente. A Milano hanno ceduto Ibrahimovic, i tifosi al massimo hanno protestato sotto via Turati. A Roma sarebbe diverso, per questo credo che la società potrebbe cedere De Rossi negli ultimi due giorni di mercato". Morabito parla di fattori ambientali che potrebbero influire molto sulle scelte della società capitolina. Eppure quello che sorprende Morabito è il silenzio del giocatore: "In questi giorni De Rossi non si è pronunciato su questo argomento, non ha detto di voler restare a Roma. Il suo silenzio significa molto. Anche lui sta pensando all'offerta del Manchester City che evidentemente gli ha offerto molto di più di quanto percepisce attualmente a Roma". Il calciomercato della Roma dovrà dare una risposta al City. Mancini, manager del club inglese, ha voglia di fare un investimento importante in vista della prossima stagione. Il tecnico italiano da tempo ha deciso di puntare su De Rossi.
I tifosi giallorossi sono molto preoccupati. L'addio di De Rossi sarebbe davvero clamoroso e la squadra perderebbe un giocatore importantissimo non solo per il centrocampo ma anche e soprattutto per lo spogliatoio. Un leader come De Rossi sarebbe difficile da sostituire.

I think this is a deal we'd all love to see happen, one point of concern though is that Yaya and de Rossi are both 29, IF they stick around till they both retire it should happen at roughly the same time, would be scary to see the midfield the season after that happened.

Absolutely yes. and that's why I'd have preferred to get Javi Martinez, even if he is a raw material and someone would may have right to question if he will ever become as good as the best De Rossi is. but then again one step beyond: as it stands a versatile player who can shade either Yaya and the CB role is a must.

and yes, Ted, I read Your excellent reply on the other thread and I am still tickled by the idea of breaching my promise of stop bother You and the board with my rants on the former winger, former brand developing assistant, former tv pundit, never tutored to sporting directorship, but once Your dad open the bag and give You the dosh to buy the icecream, then You still have to be able to come to the shop and deal with the purchase, Mate. my bet is that according to rumours if the bag will be open even that level of incompetence will succeed.

Well the same wanker who earlier said they'd consider an offer, now says they want 100 mil, so, once again, Marwood has fucked up by not offering them 100 mil.

I can't see De Rossi coming to us, or to anybody else for that matter. He's the heart and soul of Roma. It's a nice thought though, quality player.
