This artical yet again brings up the old questions.
What on earth is the point in investing in a youth system like ours when not a single player from these teams will get into our league squads when they need to be named for the season?
And to think he wants to add to this squad what is already brimming with talent boggles the mind in how they will break through.
That Angel kid who went back to Barca is a prime example of this, he was bought for like 1 million pounds was he not?

Good news for the monkeys though. They will feel safer at night. ;-)

They'll break through if they're good enough. When we were crap, it was easy for a stream ok kids to make the first team. As a top 4 team, there is going to be a limit to how many players are good enough, so the number of kids coming through will be limited. Even if we manage what Barca has done, it'll be 10 years before we see the benefit of that. Would you rather the first team included Boyata, Barton, SWP etc just cos they're home grown?

I don't recall any kid who's left recently who we've regretted losing. The closest is Sturridge and that was very different circumstances. Maybe Angel will prove to be good enough, but that was that he wanted to go, not that we wanted to lose him.

No. I wonder why? If only someone had a theory to explain it.

just seen Roberto's press conference ahead of Chelsea game, and it seems He's really pissed with Marwood.

Surely we are now at the stage where the manager dictates to possible signings about fees and wages, rather than in past seasons where players have been able to dictate to the managers because of our league standing and our need for those higher class players.
I think we should only be looking at players who are of the very top level or high class players who are young enough to be developed for now and the future.these players are hard to prise away from other teams and we shouldn't be getting held to ransom anymore.

And rightly so in my opinion. I have absolutely no clue what this guy actually brings to the table. Especially in this transfer window he fucked up royally in my opinion.

Everyone needs a scapegoat - I want to start a line of 'Blame Brian' pin badges.
