Super Duper Mario?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Super Duper Mario?

Postby AG7 » Fri Aug 10, 2012 10:45 pm

Daily Star has reported that City rejected a firm £40 million bid from PSG for Balotelli earlier this summer and Mancini apparently had threatened to walk if he was sold ...

Really?

I'd take that £40 million in a second; I don't think he is THAT good with all the baggage ... plus is that why we haven't moved anyone else in yet, that club is pissing Mancini off and there is some conflict of opinion in there somewhere? Now this all of course be the paper bollox but if this was true, is he really worth that much to us? Bobby did say there were offers for Mario this summer ...

I think our club has screwed up this whole transfer window on a lot of levels ...

You obviously missed the point ... I said this could very well be paper bullshit, point was if this is true, is Mario worth £40 million? Not to me ... what is he worth in your opinion? £20 million? £10 million? £80 million?

Yep can see that the club is definitely trying to piss Mancini off for nixing the sale of Mario for £40m. Handing Mancini a new 5 year contract was a real low move. Doubt if he saw it coming to be honest...

I've said it before but Mario is box office gold in PR terms so if Mancini is happy to keep him then the owners will be mindful that Mario generates media copy on much bigger scale than any other City player and his antics and performances at the Euro's only served to enhance his profile. Play it right (and fingers crossed) Mario could be the poster boy for the entire City project. So okay it could end in tears but either way it will be played out in the media on a global scale which is kind of the point.

Sell mad Mario? You would have to be crazy to do so at this stage.

Hypothetically... Turn down the offer.

There's a reason they're making that offer, and they'd go higher if we were interested. We shouldn't be though. The best of Mario is yet to come.

You've got to love it ain't ya. Not one paper has run a story about the Mario offers yet when Mancini states it the Daily Star just takes it to another level.

It was only 39 million you fools!

I can't believe Ancelotti is that sick to have a attacking line-up with Mario and Ibrahimovich. Those two will have a fight in the dressing room once a week.
