Yes, but Nasri and Milner didn't have 4 class forwards to push out of the way.

Edit: De Rossi won't be coming.

Mancini has just said he will be an important player for England and City, so that's that. Bit of a surprise really (more so that Sky Sport actually understood something for once).

I actually agree with that. People forget he is barely 21.

Undoubtedly has the potential to be World Class player. It's make or break for him now, steps up at City and becomes the man who they say he could be or is unable to find his feet here and slips into a mid level career.

I'm gonna vote he does the business for us. Just a feeling.

Also credit to Dazby, this transfer belongs to you.

EDIT:

I also found this post on an Evertonian forum, think it sums Rodwell up. This was posted by a highly regarded member btw.

Remember the player he was when first on the scene, I along with mikeo was pricing him in excess of £30m. He's a difficult player to value right now, he could be anywhere from £8m - £40m. If he gets full fitness, confidence and run of games he is a potential world class player.

Any word on the fee?

Can't say it thrills me based on his injury record / Toffeeweb opinions of him. He's signed though, so hopefully he settles quickly and becomes an important player for us.

It was pretty simple though.

Bobby : Bring me de Rossi.
Marwood : No
Bobby : Bring me Javi Martinez.
Marwood: No, but what about Rodwell?
Bobby: I don''t want him.
Marwood: Ok, i will bring him anyway.

Look at opinions from 6-8 months ago you get a better picture I think.

General vibe is he is a potential world class player who is perceived now as the player Everton can afford to sell for big dollar, pay off some debt and not weaken there squad a huge deal as the have large amounts of CM's they are happy with.

Opinion is if and when Rodwell is fit and firing he was a guaranteed starter, trouble was he didn't have a great season on the injury front last year. I did read however, this was because Everton rushed him back from Injury and it recurred.

We will see this year though!

Interesting signing this, still only 21 and he has bags of potential. If we can manage to keep him fit he could go on to be a cracking signing.

Lets hope he can shake off the injurys and fulfill his promise.

I do think rodwell has a lot of potential ... and could be a good partner for yaya in the middle ... if it's rodwell instead of de rossi, i'm not happy about it. Almost definitely the case, i would imagine.

How is he going to get in the team?
It's madness, not to mention the likes of Razak Swarez etc coming through, they hgaven't a hope in hell.
He's a good player but nothing great.

Good player who could be great.

Would imagine playing with the likes of Yaya, Silva, Nasri will bring the best out of him, add the fact he is English and young, makes the deal represent a decent gamble imo.
