It's madness, not to mention the likes of Razak Swarez etc coming through, they hgaven't a hope in hell.
He's a good player but nothing great.

We still might lose Nige by the end of the window, Barry and Yaya are not so young any more so room in a season or two for our youngsters. Midfield was a priority this summer (so was defence though).

Theres an old quote from him saying he modelled himself on Rio, and that he would learn the game in midfield while young before moving to defence. He could be a Vinnie.

Don't think anyone can complain at that price. Whatever, Rod Jackwell is now a City player so the whinging whiners who think we should be signing Messi may as well get used to it.

Great signing imo... its the CB/CM signing we needed to make sure we got this summer. I guess he's Mancini's 2nd choice after Xavi Martinez?

Its a win-win at that price in my opinion. If it doesn't work out; at least we haven't spent a ridiculous amount. And if it does well in to Bob and the staff (minus Platt of course) for taking the gamble.

Jack Rodwell: Man City bid accepted by Everton
Manchester City have agreed to sign Jack Rodwell from Everton for an undisclosed fee.
The midfielder, 21, will undergo a medical with the Premier League champions on Sunday. Rodwell, who is valued by Everton at around £15m, was last week named by Roy Hodgson in the England squad to play Italy on Wednesday.
City are without Gareth Barry, who has a hip injury, while doubts remain over Nigel de Jong's future.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini said: "We consider Jack Rodwell to be a good, young player. He will be an important midfielder for the England national team and for us. We need someone who wants to win, is good tactically and is a good player for the future."
On Friday, Mancini said he was "not happy" about the club's lack of new signings this summer.
Rodwell is Manchester City's only high-profile new arrival this summer, although the club have been linked with transfers for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie and Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger.
The 21-year-old will add depth to a City midfield department that is weakened with the absence of England international Barry.
De Jong is also stalling over a new deal. The 27-year-old is in the final year of his contract and has attracted interest from Bayern Munich.
Rodwell rose through Everton's youth system after joining the Premier League club at the age of seven.
He represented England at four junior levels before making his senior debut in the friendly win over Spain in November 2011, replacing Phil Jones as a 56th-minute substitute.
Three days later, Rodwell started his first full international, playing 58 minutes against Sweden before being replaced by James Milner.

I haven't really seen much of Rodwell. I remember we were in for him last summer or the summer before that but otherwise I don't know much about him. Would anyone care to describe him a bit more elaborate than "shite" "good" or "versatile"? Feel free to use many adjectives.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I'm not sure it's a huge gamble either. He will have plenty of rest and a world class club to make sure he has every opportunity to excel. Good business at 15m fantastic at 12.

You can shut the fuck up too. You, Soccs et al spent well over a season moaning your whiney little bitch arses off about our previous manager....often for no other real reason other than he used to play for United.

It was fucking tiresome....so you can now deal with it if others are similarly annoying you when they don't rate someone in a management position too.

It's ideal for him at this stage of his career, to learn to actually play football as opposed to hump it & run.

He will either sink or swim I suppose. The one thing he does have over most of our midfield & centre backs is pace. If he can sharpen up his football skills under Bob, then it could change his life.

This is a nailed on Ferguson signing though. It's his mate Moyes. He has been lined up as a future rag since he made his debut, just like Rooney. How the fuck he's ended up at City, I don't know.

This is what I'm thinking too. He can play in midfield but it's long been talked about that he'll end up as a CB. Perhaps this is the CB our squad needs???

How much did Scouse want for Agger again? 20 or 17?

The next transfer (if it will be one) will clear for us for what position did Rodwell was bought.

I still hope we will land de Rossi.
