Doesn't look like a panic signing to me.

"Jack Rodwell is a young player who needs to improve to play at this level,"

"He's a good player for our future, I hope. I liked Jack last season and for this reason we bought him.

"He's doing a medical at this moment. I think he's a good player, he's young and it's the first time he'll play to win things. It will be difficult for him but I am sure in a couple of years he will be a top midfielder because he's strong."

And on other transfers:

"I'm unhappy, it's normal, every manager is unhappy if one week from the season they haven't bought any players, but we are working this week.

"We are looking for other players. I'm waiting at this moment and I think tomorrow we will talk about other players."
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

don't now if this is just MUEN bollox
http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... ck-rodwell
Rodwell has been rated in the £20million bracket and is seen as a regular international of the future.

but if the fee is anywhere near to realty I really hope TED wiil waive a tad of his EGO and reflect of what pile of shite is the "Khaldoon does not want to waste money" argument.

GET RID OF THAT MARWOOD MISFIT, PLS CITY!

"Has been rated in" doesn't mean that's what we paid! Ian Cheeseperson said £12m according to Everton sources and that is the more likely figure...

in fact I wrote don't know if it's just MUEN bollox.
hope your info are right, because every average sporting director could sign Derossi for very few more of 20 million pounds

I like Rodwell as a prospect, particularly if he can manage to stay fit, tho

I'm thinking it's undisclosed as we aren't paying anywhere near what the rated price is and will have bonus related clauses added into the contract. I'd even go as far to say that it's more 8 mil with add-on's up to 12 mil.

But what would I know.

On a related note, I think Mancio4Eva is playing mind-games and is really a Marwood Lover.

Couldn't be more underwelmed. This Prick used to CONSTANTLY message a girl I was seeing. Thinks hes the business.

He's injury prone and a dick IMO. Rags were raving about him 2/3 years ago.

This along with the Sinclair rumour proves we just want to boost the english quota.

Apart from the injury prone bit, how does any of that relate to his playing ability?

We ALL text her mate! In fact Doomie's messages were probably the most thought provoking! Still no reason not to bring him in. Good player with a future so long as we can keep him injury free. Not going to be first name on team sheet by no means but young and talented!
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

Good signing. And yes marwood gets credit for that. However, Mancini gets praise for lighting a fire under marwood by public flogging him ever so gently knowing the media would fan the flames. ;)

In all seriousness, I like this signing a lot but what I hate is why we've left it so late. This lad with a preseason would be in better shape to get moving with his career at city. No worries. It'll snap back but that's my basic point about marwood. What's he doing?

Is it coincidence to most that:

Mancini talks shit. Subtly I know and the media blows it up. Then we make our first signing 48 hour later?

Not to me it isn't. and I'm glad he spoke up about it. We needed to shake something loose.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I have just read on goal.com that Mancini stated that we will be talking about other players coming to city tomorrow!
What do you think? Who could he/they be?

Well in his interview Bob mentioned Rodwell as a midfielder, so I think De Rossi is out.

I can't see us going back in for RVP.

Maybe another defender. Hope its not Agger though with the money Liverpool are asking.

Have to admit I never rated him an chuckled at the thought of baconface buying him for 17-20m. Was always in the same bracket as Jordan Henderson for me, big, strong, slow etc but maybe just haven't seen enough of him. People say he hadn't played much because of injuries but as I remember he was no definite starter for Scouse blue when fit either?

Oh well, in Bob we trust, seems to be a done deal so welcome Jack
