Germans abroad - a bit of advice please.

So, we are heading over for the Southampton game on upcomin weekend. Three questions left.....

a) Breakfast on Saturday morning
We are in Manc early in the morning. Some advice for a good breaky needed, something like the Koffepot please.

b) Luggage
As we have to hurry to catch our flight back (have to be at the airport around 7), my plan is to left the luggage at Piccadilly , pic a cab at the ground-Piccadilly-Pick up luggage-train to airport between 6/6.30.....
Is there any other option to left luggage in Manc?

c) Saturday without football?
Planing to go to Burnley-Bolton. Is Bury- Brentford the better option? Haven´t been to both, so......
Any suggestion`? Some advice for a pub in Burnley?

Because you are only staying one night, travel light , with a rücksack. You can take your rücksack into the stadium. Probably the best is to have a taxi waiting for you either to get to Piccadilly station, for the train to the Airport or take a taxi straight to the Airport.

Manchester Airport is the worst for d*ckheads wanting to know if you have 'any liquids' and the whole process is way too slow.

If you can , check in in advance. You can always have a beer once you've got your ticket.

The game is late, so you will have to move quickly, not because of the traffic, but because the Airport is a joke. If a taxi can be waiting for you , this is the best option.

As far as breakfast on Saturday is concerned , there are lots of average places in or around the City Centre.

I have to disagree. Bury town centre has cleaned itself up and looks pretty good. Can't say the same for the stadium but Bury is not a bad place to go. There are far far worse.

No you are right, but I also live close by and I can assure there are many worse places around and about.

Oh yeh definitely. I had to travel through some grim places to get to Westhoughton of a morning when I used to work there. And here in Wilmslow there's Handforth just down the road which kind of reminds me of parts of Bury.

I mean no offence to anyone from these places by the way. I'm just a snob.

The geniuses in the Town Hall in Bury ruined the town's one redeeming factor - the market - by building that fucking new monstrosity. Now the outdoor market, that people actually used to give a shit about, is falling to pieces. If the black pudding stall closes before I am next back there, I'll find the person responsible for that new fucking shopping centre and ritually disembowel them with a rusty meathook.

I went for a Nando's when I was back the other week and you're right the new part of the Rock is a monstrosity! At 8PM it was full of little kids walking around with white lightning causing trouble. During the day it's full of brand new empty flats (hundreds of them) that will eventually be used as council flats because no one wants to buy a flat overlooking Next and Marks and Sparks!

The best thing they've done is the building where the doctors is. Even then though there's not enough parking for people.

My mum still doesn't understand why I've spent the last 10 years of my life trying to get out of the place.

Flats that disappear at night? No wonder they don't sell... They won't end up as council flats mate, councils don't have any money any more to buy them. They may be needed to house the homeless from London though once the Housing Benfit changes kick in.

One good thing about Bury is you can get there on the tram from Piccadilly, no messing with trains and Bolton train station is nasty.
