Theres the crux Ted ... none of us will know the real transfer targets. All we as fans have is the press speculation. Thats why for me (wether overjoyed or not) the Rodwell signing is how transfers should be conducted.

You really honestly think that Mancini's shortlist was "I want Hazard. No one else but Hazard. And maybe Jack Rodwell".
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

No.

I'm wondering why we were the only club in for these people, & therefore the only club which has failed to sign them.

As Rodwell case clearly proves, we have been keeping things under wraps (which itself isn't really any feat imo... if we had NOT kept them under the wraps it would've been a failure). There's not a doubt in my mind that we have had discussions and made bids for more players than Hazard and Rodwell. Who they have been? I'm not sure.

I think Agger story is legit and I think we have enquired about De Rossi as Mancini has made it clear in the past that he is big admirer. Personally I think we were just stirring the shit with whole van Persie with rags being interested and Arsenal struggling to keep hold of their best player. Van Persie as a transfer target don't make much sense to me for numerous of reasons starting from his age, injury history and going to our style of play and which type of strikers Mancini prefers. BUT that is ALL just guesswork.

I personally don't think any of the big targets we are after have moved anywhere but I do think other clubs, some big clubs, would also like to sign them & have also failed (so far). In the case of Agger, I think Liverpool are possibly about to price him out of it & if so we will walk. Khaldoon has stated that will be the case if people try to take the piss. DeRossi imo, has always been only about a 10% possibility due to the number of factors involved.

RVP, I think, is still on the cards unless Arsenal push up the fee too far, in which case, once again, we will walk. I'm not sure Arsenal want to do this deal until the window is about to shut but it could alternatively be that they are just fucking about trying to get the rags to bid above our offer. Whether we will get cold feet & move on to plan B, I don't know, but I don't believe we have done that yet. Last season though, we obviously set up the Aguero deal whilst waiting for Sanchez, so I wouldn't rule out something of a shock.

Imo, Mancini sees RVP as someone who can play more than just as a striker though, & that's why he wants him as opposed to any other top striker.

I think Khaldoon is here with the Sheikh's aurthorisation to see if he can conclude a couple of deals. All this is just my opinion, based on nothing whatsoever other than watching what's been going on.

I feel the need to address my apologies to almost 99% of the resident crew for having let go to the extreme my passionate and huge concerns towards an issue that - right or wrong - I do consider THE (final) issue at the Great Noble Club we all love (most of You more than I can do).
That include a special apology to Bigblue for having addressed an almost pointless and useless PM to him just because I was frustrated to be shown a yellow card by him, whose opinion I care very much and rate accordingly: sometimes You agree, sometimes You don't but brillance still remains.

I like to present the sense of my most felt gratitude to Dazzler, Dev Alahan and Alioune for showing me their sympathy which I am proud to perceive as beyond common kindness. ADVT, unfortunately I'm still on learning curve, hence not it wasn't deemed to be a brilliant gag.

Ultimately, because I am and still remain a prick:

Not the type to judge a player after one performance, but sell Nige and replace him with this lad? No thanks.

One good moment covering for Kompany early on and a horror one to give them their second. Expecting NDJ in for Liverpool.

He looked generally composed, he showed good anticipation to cover for Vinnie early on, and he was eager to support attacks when circumstances allowed - he was sloppy with his attempted pass which led to one of their goals but he hasn't had much matchtime recently so it's not worth jumping on his back for it - just look what kind of a game Silva had.

He started well, but when the pressure built he was lost. He just needs time to settle in, and mancini should have put on de jong for him. Yaya was trying to go forward leaving Rodwell on his own, which is tough since it's his first game. He's not horrible, just needs time and support. We are a team, not a collection of individuals.
