Totally cant subtract. Why we only paid 9m pounds less..sounds like Everton took advantage of us

Two other points I just thought of ... OK united bought him panicked ... clearly they'd not even think of touching him had they not lost the league last year, just goes against their philosophy ... but why did Arsenal sell to them? They clearly had a chance to finish above them this year had they not sold RVP or hell even if they had shipped him overseas and not let United have him, they surely could have better chance of finishing above the scum ...

Will be fucking funny if either RVP gets injured in training session alone and sits out half the season ... or these two fight for 3/4th spot (with City and Chelsea at 1 and 2) and RVP causes Arsenal to fall below them at the very end ... thus Arsenal having to enter CL at play offs ...

Oh, and btw have you noticed there will be more grey haired players wearing that kitchen towel jersey this year ... after Gigs, now RVP too will boast the salt n pepper hair ... it's either them or players with no hair ... and the oldest of them all keep claiming they are a young squad ...

64 million in wages and signing fee for a 29 year old with history of injuries.

Yep - we dodged a bullit.

How many games did we play against Arsenal last season? Three, two in the league and one in League Cup ... how many times did RVP score against us? A big fat ZERO ...

How many games we played against United? Four, two in the league, one Community Shield and one FA cup tie ... how many did Rooney score against us? Two, one out of which was a sham of a penalty given to them, which too he almost fluffed against Pantilimon ...

Right, I am worried, oooohhh, shivers ..... they can wank each other in the shower and consider that scoring!

Last year of contract and Arsene Whinger is an accountant. They bank on 4th, they have given up caring about winning the league. Song has to feel like the last pretty girl in the club right now. I am not sure 4th is even possible for them now, although if Spurs lose Modric that could hurt them quite badly.

i think arsenal can still manage 4th. They have some new hungry players coming in ... Cazorla, Podolski and Giroud ... ok they are not world beaters, but tott are losing modric, something to consider.

It was said earlier in the thread, but i'm not too sad about missing out on RVP, he is talented for sure and a match winner ... though I wasn't sure how he would fit in to our team ... I did not want him going to United. To put it in the simplest terms, he makes them better. Would you rather go up against Rooney / Welbeck or Rooney / RVP? simple as that.

Yeah, but in saying that the reason he scored so many was he was being fed through the centre by Song. Who's there now? Rusty and Carrick? Neither can pass like Song and one of them will have to move his Zimmerframe to give room for backlift. Being fed from our wide is great, but I have never noted RVP as being profilic with his head.

He doesn't fit in to our set up, fair enough. But who would you rather have? Shrek/RVP or Aguero/Tevez? Simple as that.

it's not even a comparison worth making tbh. we've got the best collection of strikers in the world. Hands down. Easy.

You are right, a fit RVP does improve United. But we didn't need him so we don't need to feel sad about missing him. 24m for an injury-prone 29 year old, who I expect to be on substantial wages, is a big risk for United. It would be nice if it didn't work out for both parties!

all four? Sure Messi can make any conversation on the topic a moot point, but:

Messi, Pedro, Sanchez, Villa v Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko?

Messi > Kun Barca 1 - 0 City
Tevez > Villa Barca 1 - 1 City
Balo > Pedro Barca 1 - 2 City
Sanchez > Dzejo Barca 2 - 2 City

seriously....and, yes, i like the football.

I would say Messi over Aguero, Villa on par with Tevez, Sanchez better than Balo and Pedro shits all over Dzeko, and I don't even rate Pedro that much. Too much non-highlight reel television has shown how wasteful he can be.

The teenage bought for next to nothing and always fit and reliable RVP is the perfect buy for Ferguson. He fits perfectly with his philosophy of only buying and developing youngsters on the cheap and the watch them develop as he helps them grow. Unlike the dreadful City who pay daft money for ageing make weights like Aguero.

So what are the odds on Arsenal selling their next captain in the transfer window.....

Vieira
Henry
Fabregas
Van Pussy

I cannot wait to see me arsenal colleague and his list of excuses today. Arsenal a selling club, who would have thought that when two of the richest guys in the world own them?

Villa is crocked & may never be the same player again. Imo, I'd still pick Tevez over him anyway. Messi is better than Dzeko. Aguero & Balotelli are better than Sanchez & Pedro. 3-1 to City.

Unfortunately, Messi is better than Tevez, Aguero, Balotelli & Dzeko (& Rooney & RVP) all at once. So it's more like 10 -3 to Barca.
