I've just written a few sentences on my thoughts but it timed-out. In essence it said 'Bullshit'.

If it came down to that, De Rossi is million miles better player than De Jong. De Jong does what he does exceptionally well and, apart from second half of 2-3 derby when he just quit on us, he has never given half arsed performance but De Rossi is just in different level.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think he did but that Derby second half was like he gave up on the game and the team and it was fucking embarrasing. That Napoli goal was just a mistake.

This is the really single transfer that i think we really need and want.

He and Yaya could be the best center pair in the world and i think the Roma fans will understand. Is not like he is going to Lazio or Juventus.

No, Nige dropped a bit of a bollock by going out to the wing to do some more defending but Cavani was still way out of the penalty area & had Yaya Toure within ten yards. Yaya couldn't be arsed covering Cavani & just jogged slowly back, leaving the whole edge of the penalty area free for Napoli players. With Yaya's pace he could have got there & back twice but didn't bother.

This story is appearing all over the media now, so surely we can expect a denial from Rome very soon if it's bollocks.

I hope a denial is coming. For all his talent 29 is just too old to be coming to the prem and then adjusting to the difference in the game. We can't expect anything better than his current level and can almost definitely expect a drop even if it is only temporary while he adjusts.

disagree here, he would be a fine addition. Would allow yaya to be played more attacking and also form great cover whilst yaya is at the ACN.

This is quite a sensible point but I would in opposition say just two words: Gianfranco Zola.

I'd be happy to be wrong but the fact is the prem is a harder faster league and the list of players that have come here with no dip even if it is just a few weeks is very short. Of our current players only kun seems to have come and smashed it from day 1 and i put this down to his age. Even players that have come from other prem teams have needed a while to adjust.

Also despite what the media would love to be true, we dont play an Italian style of football. Every now and again we may switch to a defensive set up to kill a game we have in the bag but for the most part we are fast, fluid and attacking to a point that no other team can hope to match. So he wouldn't just have to adjust to the better league he would have to adjust and find a way to fit in and keep up with the best team in that league.

I just think it would be risky and hard for a 29 year old to do this but like I said I will be happy to be proved wrong if we go and sign him. Same as Rodwell, I don't rate him but I'll be happy to have it shoved back in my face if he develops into something close to the level of player we need.

The main rumour is about his agent being over here. Which seems to be true, but could be related to other business.

A CM of Barry and DDR behind Yaya and Silva (behind Tevez and Aguero) would be amazing (and sorely lacking width). I still love Nige though but if he wont sign what we offer, which is a fair offer, id rather sell than lose him for free.

Whatever direction this DDR saga goes I'll be happy

No, just that his agent has met Mancini. Some are saying it's to talk about signing DeRossi, others that it's about Kolarov.
