Roberto Mancini’s former agent “can confirm the interest in Daniele De Rossi and an offer could be up to the task” from Manchester City.

The Roma midfielder has long been a favourite for Mancini, who reportedly saw a £23m bid rebuffed this summer.

“I can confirm the interest in De Rossi,” Mancini’s former agent and friend Giorgio De Giorgis told Tele Radio Stereo.

“Mancini really likes De Rossi and an offer could be up to the task, seeing as so far Manchester City haven’t done much on the transfer market.

“Roma consider the player to be unsellable, but I don’t know if De Rossi’s agent Sergio Berti really is in Manchester, as the media have claimed.”

This is according to a very trusted source, who had previously informed me his agent was flying in prior to any of the newspapers knowing about it.

Fee: It's over £30m apparently, but obviously de Rossi has to agree to terms, and pass a medical.

Mancini will meet with the player within the next 24 hours.

Happy now?

news flying round all over twitter.

How good will this be if it is true!
The options we will have is incredible. Doesn't look good for Johnson and DJ though.

I'd rather get shut of Barry than de Jong.

On a side note, maybe de Rossi is being brought in to act as a mentor for Mario as well.

That's a poo story mate. Former agent thinks it could be a goer but he's not even sure where his current agent is?

Shocking reporting.

Edit: Forgot to say, thanks for the update bud, much appreciated.

Apparently this Sergio character who's his agent is good mates with Bob anyway. So he could have just nipped over to go Alton Towers or something

Apparently he's a big mate of Mancini's so I don't see why he would lie about it. He isn't saying he knows there's a deal going on, he's just saying he recons Mancini wants DeRossi & he thinks we'll try to sign him. Nothing more.

Sorry Ted, I think you've got me wrong, I'm just playing catch-up and am honestly asking the question. Who is Mancini's mate, the current agent or the ex?

I think we all know he wants De Rossi, and why not.

It's just a mate of Mancini's who used to be Mancini's agent. He is simply confirming that Mancini is genuinely interested in DeRossi & it's not just a rumour & he thinks we'll make an offer.

Unlike the Van Persie Bollox, De Rossi does interest me. I reckon it's all down to De Rossi though.
