We've inquired but not put in an offer, why is this? For me, it says that we've contacted the club who've allowed us to have a chat with the player. That would suggest that they are at least able to play ball but it would ultimately be down to the player as they do not want to alienate their fans. After being contacted by our officials Mancini then personally intervened but the answer was the same as before so no offer has gone in for the player.

We are very interested, but is he?

pretty much agree on the whole picture, bar the last 3 words.
I think he's 50% on his mind upping to 90% IF he would be offered a fair, civilized chance without losing his face and his heart in front of his whole world - cuz Rome is the whole world for almost every Roman people who can live of their owns - whether that will happens or not it's hard to guess, and I reckon his opinion and feeling are pretty much irrelevant there, very much depending on:
how our negotiating ability with the Club counterpart will be effective and thus driving to the agreement to present the deal as a Roma need/interest. We both know that our opinions divert there, but I won't engage myself in that silly ground anymore, as promised.

Isn't DDR's agent also Kolarov's? I could be wrong on this one, though.

@Mancio4ever,

Yes, pal, I am a fellow italian. (;

Still thinking this deal is not totally dead as some seem to believe.

De Rossi has spoken but has only said enough to strengthen his position with the fans if he is to leave.
He has not exactly ruled out the possibility of a move.He has merely said he has not asked to move.

Yeah, it was the same old Italian bullshit, a lot of faffing about to come to the conclusion that he was loyal and always would be to Roma and that no amount of money could ever drive him away.

BTW, he also mentioned that no-one had put a bid in and City had just made an enquiry.

90% of the stuff that gets on the papers is complete and utter sh!t. Transfer market like this creates so many money-making opportunities ( 35k people at the Olympic Stadium in Rome for a friendly game, people? ) that we should just wait and see.
There hasn't even been an official, proper offer from Manchester City yet.

Intelligent and, if You actually are Italian, Mate, I'm proud to have a fellow Countryman and Blue on here, who can prove that some Italians speak and spell English properly, as I can't anymore.

@ Beefy.
I see the cover from direct horse and thank You for that cuz I couldn't hear the words yet.
Still it doesn't change very much of my opinion - which is not DDR will surely come nor he can't sleep without City - just that key points are still on the table:
a) Italian Clubs are Skint and the new American Owners of ROMA have to write off huge debts
b) It's now or never either for the Player and the Club (Roma): none of them will get the same opportunity at next turn of waltz.

Then, if or how much the Club (MCFC) want DDR, I'm with Wayne and Tony and John there: nobody knows other than 2 men in the whole world, HH & the Chairman (possibly 3 if Soriano as been already fully involved).

I tell You what though, If our beloved City were already a full running engine (which nobody wants or expects to be yet, in such a short time) and I theoretically was the sporting director, having been shown the green light by the upper instances, I'd take the 1st luxury Ethiad plane to Rome, with an irrevocable letter of credit for 25-27 million euro in my handbag, along with a contract for 2 seasons long loan of Rodders and throw them onto the table of Roma's Board Room, in the certainty that Zdenek Zeman is one of the best Youth Developers in the world and we will have back Rodders ready to step into Yaya's boots with very few tactical adjustment by Bob in the next summer preasoson camp. Meanwhile City, with DDR in the squad for the next 4 years, will have won another title out of the next two seasons (to say the very least) and seriuosly challenged to hear the starting whistle of one of the next 2 CL Finals (again at very least).

Odds: could be 10%, could be 80%, very much depending on what those 2 men will be thinking in the next few days.

Cheers for the info folks.

It looks like it's down to how much we think DeRossi is worth. He could easily have said he's not going anywhere & made it impossible for Roma to cash in, but he's chosen the 'I'll only leave if the club sell me' routine, just like Agger.

Up to HRH now to decide.

If its up to HRH then what fucking job does Marwood have? Just to run to daddy Everytime something might happen? He should have a budget and approved targets and do the work of the work to get them done or move onto alternates etc. this isn't schoolboy playground shit. And it's also not rocket surgery.

I am so confused by the nutless, ruderless transfer window that is this summer.

If Marwood is some cardboard cutout who is totally toothless then Mancini should push to own the transfer business and just deal with khaldoon and the sheik on his own. Couldn't be worse.

Yes he is Kolarov's agent. If Kolarov was going though would he have risked him coming on last weekend if there's a deal in place with another club.

Doomie, Doomie, Doomie...
I wish I was there, have a roll of charas with You and start playing a night long session of Ricky_the True Blue_Wakeman tracks with You.

It got boring, Antii had spelled the terms of it majestically, and we all trust and sleep extremely comfortable in the certainty that when THEY will fell it's the moment, Khaldoon will sort it out.
Don't suck Ted & Beefy' ballsack, we may have a deflagration threatening the poor reminder of the oxono layer, If You'd ask me...

cheers Pal

If there is something we don't need, it's Strikers and Right and Left Backs. Instead of replacing a faulty Joleon Lescott and focusing on a much needed Defending Midfielder, we buy a 31 year old Maicon and Cavani.

All of this when we have Clichy, Kolarov, Zabaleta and Richards to play in Maicon's role and Balotelli, Dzeko, Aguero and Tevez in Cavani's.

This is just something I do not understand.

I think cavani would be perfect.I do generally like dzeko but to be honest he has had lots of chances and just isnt good enough while mario is so unreliable.

I really hope not and we keep working on developing Edin.

He does the donkeywork & they control the purse strings. The examples & quotes are all out there if you look for it. I've quoted plenty of examples on here but people just skip over it & continue as if I made it up.

Soriano may get to have more control but I recon HRH has the final say on every major transfer.

At last Doomie, you have asked the right question Mate....and it sure as fuck ain't the job you lot keep blaming him for not doing.

If you are a really good boy, maybe one day I will sit down and explain it to you. It was all stated publicly when he arrived but for some reason everyone wants to ignore it. You're blaming the waitress for the steak being burnt mate.
