Its another point of view Beefy - they will never post something that might give away something that they do not want to give away - all this will be given a once over by the powers that be before going out into the public domain , with Dougs reports noone could edit it , which is why he was probably banned from the inside in the first place , something was posted that rattled them.

I have said before and will say it again, NOONE from outside City should be allowed to see the training, even if that means we dont get to read about it from a fans perspective.

What they could of done is politely asked doug not too post his training reports anymore but still allow him to watch his team train. If they wanted to do it thats fair enough but kicking doug out is a bit snide i think.

I've read Doug's reports and think they're great. But honest question here. Does any other club open their training to fans? I know there is the open session in the beginning of the season, but other than that I thought it was restricted to family/friends and special guests. If someone from inside City has decided to stop letting him in there had to have been a reason.

Take a bunch of photos, describe everything that's in the photos, even the fuzzy shapes of players in the background, make up some bullshit rhetoric. Yeah, it's better.

Almost 100% sure that was written by someone who didn't actually watch the training session.

What a bunch of shite, nothing about banter or anything. I think the OS are missing the point about the training reports, its not the drills people are interested in its the interaction of the players, who does extra work the non biasedness of the reports from doug. So dissapointing and doesnt give the fans what they want.

I didn't say that. But I very rarely read the reports on here anyway. I was simply saying I liked what I read on the OS.

What gets me is the way the OS have put it up and made it look like THEY thought of it.

As I've said, I rarely read the reports on here, but I know people have accused him of bias when Mancini took over from Hughes saying his loyalties were with Hughes because he didn't agree with the sacking and that he was 'digging' at Mancini in some reports. Maybe that's why the decision was made.
Again, I'm not saying that. Its what I've read from other people.

Yeah i honestly believes Doug says it as he sees it, hes criticised(to a certain extent) hughes mancini and others when needed in his reports, also if a player is suspected injured and doug says there training we know there not, i cant see the OS given info like that, there reports will be what they want us to hear not necessarily what we should hear which is why i loved dougs reports.

Doug is the best, I absolutely refuse to accept City's efforts to usurp him.

Give Doug the keys to the gate and let him get on with it properly for god's sake, I'd say he's served his apprenticeship!

Bang on ... its stuff like this that makes me realise we are getting more like 'them' by the week. I reckon CITC days are probably numbered as well, it really wouldn't surprise me sadly.

Is that how you see it? Not just in terms of the training reports, but on a wider scale...

My impression was that since the takeover the club has been making an extra effort to get closer to the fans. The website is an example of that, and they appear to be ensuring players of the past are involved with the club today. What else have you seen to suggest that's not the case? Just out of curiosity.

For what it's worth, as much as I think Doug has made a great contribution to this site with his excellent training reports. I do think City's training sessions should all be conducted behind closed doors. We're challenging for all of the highest honours in the game and every little detail counts. If there is something that Mancini and the team want to work on in training, I'd feel much more comfortable knowing they were the only ones who knew about what they were working on. The club can then report on the training sessions, ensuring we only know about what the club wants us to know. With regards to training, I have no problem with this. However, as Doug has been such a great servant to City fans with his training reports, there would be (and still is an opportunity) for the club to perhaps get Doug involved as he knows what the fans are looking for in the training reports.

It's just my general feeling. Don't get me wrong I love whats happening at the club at the mo but part of the trade off for all that investment/success is that, imo, the homely club feel is disappearing. I'm just in a grouchy mood today so that might be it as well but the club is definately not moving in the right direction in all areas imo but to compete at the top I understand that and if it means further success that is how it should be. Talking the piss out of United for things they've done in the past is exactly what we are doing in certan areas now .... sadly

Also my gut feeling why Doug was allowed in last season was to test out the idea, which as a success, has now been promply 'stolen' and his access denied as they have no need for him now .... fecking using cents ... hee hee

Nield is too showbiz for us nowadays.
The training report idea will end up in court ala Zuckerberg Facebook style,it doesnt sit well with me scoping around fan sites then just nicking the idea they could have got Doug involved hell they could have even put his face too it used his words and style then used edit to use it for their agenda.

I wonder who got a pay rise.

Agreed, Doug's access could be managed by the powers that be through briefing and if needs be by contractual agreement. I understand that there are difficulties like tactics or injures being revealed but from DH's track record it's easy to see his heart is in the right place and he won't betray the club.

I can see MCFC's point of view, it's risky, easy answer is to cut out the risk. Unfortunately it's the fans who lose out here big time. The thing is is that Doug is one of us in there with the lads sharing the banter etc and as such we, the fans are connected in this way to the club.

Bitterly disappointing.

I'm sorry, but this reaction is well over the top. Our club is dedicated to the CITC programme & not letting fans watch training sessions won't change that.

We're the champions of England & whether we like it or not, the club needs to have full control over what information is leaked about training sessions (or anything else). I love Doug's training reports but I'm very surprised they let him inside for as long as they did. I know Doug would never leak specific information about training drills but I don't blame the club, and Mancini in particular, for being paranoid. It's a massive shame Doug isn't allowed inside the gates but I'm sure no other top club in Europe would risk their privacy like we have. So we can be grateful that it lasted as long as it did. And I'm happy they've compromised with this.

I could understand people being disappointed but to get angry like some have is a bit much. That's my opinion anyway, I respect others don't have the same one.
