David Luiz

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

That gives me a dreadful, sinking feeling that there could be some truth in this. Also, it's not beyond imagination that RDM could want to get rid of Luiz & buy a proper defender, looking at the state of Terry & Co.

It may just be an enquiry rather than a bid though. There are a lot of cbs suddenly being linked with us, so we may be talking to a selection from which Bob will make the final choice.

If Bob does sign him, I will try not to cut my wrists& will assume that he thinks he can teach him how to defend & we will see a great player in two years time.

It would mean of course that his defensive signings include Boateng, Kolarov, Savic & Luiz.

I am scared!
Luiz was certainly the main target then, till Bry acheived Kolarov for 18 millions.... and I am pretty sure Bob was and (I fear still is) a fan of him.
IF... I will raise some questions: Savic and Luiz would be too much, even for a licker!!!

can't see HRH & Chairman sanctioning such a silly waste of money after they didn't sanction Hazard, Javi Martinez and De Rossi, pretty much for the same expenditure.
and even then, we might still be trusting in the well renowned negotiating skill of the donkey underling with specific responsibilities that were clearly and publicy explained at a certain time, mightn't we?

I think they would pay the money for DeRossi & Hazard. It was the agent's fee they refused to pay on Hazard.

Apparently City have denied bidding on Sideshow Bob though & are not interested, so we can all relax.

Im glad to acknoweldge that You are right, Ted.
I am a prick and still am on wind up mood since I saw Hazard (cunt or not) slaloming as he was Patrick at his spark.
I reckon that I ve nothing to say just right at You on the matter.

we will have the best CL kit, tho.

I do wish people would stick bullshit rumours in the Bullshit ***Transfer Rumour Thread***. I feel I have to click on the topic as it's been quoted as fact because it's got it's own thread.

Without reading the story or the comments I am hoping everybody who posted has just replied 'Bullshit'.

Agree with that. I wanted him as leftback who could cover for Lescott if needs be (whihc obviously has been changed into "replacement for Lescott" now.....LOL). Granted he has been poor for Chelsea and haven't really adjusted well yet. But there's massive potential in there.

Don't think that story is true by the way.

He is no left back thats for sure, i dont even think he is left footed! I reckon with a bit of coaching he would make a good centre half but not for that money.

???????
That's exactly where he played for Benfica and Brazil (when he got his first caps... don't know where they use him now). I think right foot is his preferred but he puts in sweet crosses with his left.

I'd reserve the use of phrase "that's for sure" if you aren't really sure.

Im basing it on what ive seen from him in england, not the fact the he hasnt or cant play there more the he wouldnt be a success there in england thats for sure, make sense?

Makes more sense yeah. I disagree though. I think he will be like Collocini though. People forget how shocking he was in that first season in England.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I don't mind the fact that we have done next to nothing in the transfer market. But how looking at a player we might
actually be able to get??

Mate: You always seemed twice the wise of almost all of us (excluding Sir John, Tokio, Ted when talking football only, and very few others): THAT is the point. I have always dropped a shortcut re the tranfert market from May on: buy the very little which can actually make us climb the last step towards excellence (almost perfection), on par with the most sparkling Barca, or SAVE money for the next opportunity (very rare) to get that level of quality and work developing our youngest and raw talents.

I strongly believe that all this Maicon, Luiz etc. rumors are mere made up b*ll*x. but in case I will be proven wrong, there's something which ain't going in the right direction and - please accept my genuine apologies for it - we will be acting as the moneybag we had been painted (without any evidence nor reason) fsince the start of the Bluemoon rising. imo.

where/what'd be the point in buying an almost finished, already faded FB, when we have already MR, PZ, GC and even AK, other than showing a lack of drive and almost anarchy in the technical area???

I doubt the rumours of Maicon but imo, he would be a great signing as a wingback for when Bob plays 352. Much better at that job than Zabba or Micha.

I don't deny it, Ted.
As You teach, he would be a very good addition to our plan B, for one, possibly two, season.
Certainly not a priority like a versatile shade for Yaya/Cbs (read DeRossi or JMartinez to lesser extent) nor a step fwd climber (read Hazard or Muniain/Goetze to lesser extent): I'd say a luxury slightly improving gift, same as if we replaced Brian with Ant London for the donkey position.
If we had at the Club someone able to sign him at the market value, not more than euro 4-5 mil, and agree with him a career ending back-up level of wages, I'd be probably even consider worth the addition, despite deffo not in line with the Club mission.

As it stands, or better as I see it not - right or wrong - I must refer to that old post of mine where I was dreaming of being dated by Scarlet J.
