The great escape - if we can get out of Liverpool with the two goals and all of our hubcaps it will feel like a win.

Red scouters are just Bolton in disguise. Two set piece goals and make it hard for the opposition.

An undeserved point, but it could be crucial at the end of the season. Not many positives from the game other than the point gained.

It might help if most of our first choice first teamers had had a preseason.

We were very lucky today to take a point. But in my own opinion we show again a lot of character. And true David Silva iscoming back again!

Disappointed with the way we played - apart from the first 20 mins we were dog shit. We were lucky to get a point, but it's a point.
We need to improve quickly. It's not as if teams are shutting up shop against us, both Liverpool and Southampton have had a go.
3-5-2 didn't work today and we lucked better with yaya in more advanced areas of the pitch and with Silva on.
Got a lot of hard work if we are to retain this title. I know it's early days, but from what we have seen we are not clinical enough.

I agree it's a point better than last year's result but what worries me is 4 games played and 8 goals conceded. That ain't good. It's keegan's Newcastle bad.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Last season City would had won 5-1 here. The only moments when we forced, we scored two times. Imagine we managed to get a point in a sick system, with players not knowing what is their position, with players havind horrible form and so on. Mario was out, Kolarov looked weird, Vinnie was taken of his pace with Bobby's decision to play him as a left footy defender and we still managed to get 1 point.

Things have got to change as soon as possible and if this is Bobby's mastermind to convince the board to bring him players, he must stop the next second.

agreed.

i'm more focused on the performance than the joy from the point. I'll feel better about nicking a point tomorrow i'm sure, but everything else i'm just bothered by related to that match. Two scrappy goals to get the point tho...the bright spot is if you fuck up twice we can score twice very easily. ;)

cheers

It's a strange habit Bob has sometimes of making unusual team decisions for big games. I doubt anyone would think we wouldn't have been better with Lescott playing & our usual formation.

The upside was Silva & Dzeko (even though he should have scored) looked good when they came on & imo when Rodwell settles down, he is going to be a real asset.

The puzzle for me is Mario, because I think he tried really hard, he made some great runs, but the team didn't look right with him in it.

We have seen today that Kolarov is a creative force at times but can't defend even against a kid from the reserve team. Kolo gives the ball away much more than Lescott & isn't fit to clean his boots as a defender FACT.
