Daily Mail's 50 Teen Sensations

Postby ant london » Tue Nov 17, 2009 7:47 am

Meant to post this yesterday but there were no City lads in it.......

Interesting that MJ is in this, even with the layoff he's had.

Who else will be in this....gotta have SWP, Ireland and Micah also appearing I'd say??

Cannot believe that fucking Greasy Fuck Macheda gets in after a whole handful of first team appearances (even if he did score a couple of peaches)

50 Jason Euell
A pacy and versatile striker, Euell was Wimbledon’s centre forward in their Premier League days. Also popping up regularly in midfield, Euell never quite managed to turn his potential into any international duty. He currently plays for Blackpool in the Championship.

49 David Dunn
A skilful midfielder who made his competitive debut against Everton and has become an integral player for Blackburn Rovers over the years. He is now in a second spell with the club after a brief stint at Birmingham. Dunn has failed to make it on the international scene despite making many appearances for England U21's, and playing one match for the senior side against Portugal in 2002.

48 Federico Macheda
The young Manchester United striker made a name for himself throughout the football world when he scored a stunning stoppage time winner against Aston Villa last season. A fast, all action forward Macheda looks to be a promising player for the future.

47 Paul Robinson
An international for many years, expert shot-stopper Robinson began his career at Leeds as a youth prospect. Displacing Nigel Martyn in the Leeds team, Robinson has enjoyed a fine career despite some recent disappointments with England.

46 Richard Dunne
Now Aston Villa’s stalwart centre-half, Richard Dunne started at Everton where he was a promising defender. Dunne is a no nonsense uncompromising defender who regularly puts his body on the line. Switching his allegiance from Manchester City to Villa this summer, Dunne is an international regular for the Republic of Ireland.

45 Malcolm Christie
Christie grabbed the headlines in a Derby County team where he was a quick, clinical striker. His impressive league form earned him 11 England under 21 caps but he never managed to make it into the senior squad. After a spell at Middlesbrough Christie joined Leeds but is now a free agent.

44 Jack Rodwell
One of Everton’s up and coming youngsters he has cemented a place in the first team this season. Rodwell is a capable player, able to play in the midfield or defence, and has played a number of times for England Under 21's.

43 Carl Cort
Scoring in the first minute of his first full debut for Wimbledon against Newcastle, the England Under 21's soon came calling for the young striker. A prolific scorer in his Wimbledon days he since moved on to play for Newcastle and Wolves. Cort is now part of the Brentford team in League One.

42 Phil Neville
The younger of the Neville brothers, Phil was part of the superb young set of players brought through in the 1990s by Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. A tough no-holds-barred defender Neville won six Premier League titles at United and is now the captain of Everton. Neville also has 59 England caps to his name.

41 Damien Duff
A speedy left-winger Duff burst onto the scene for Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder has also played for Chelsea, and now plys his trade at Fulham. Duff played for the Republic of Ireland at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea.

40 Ritchie Humphreys
Humphreys made a real impact on his debut for Sheffield Wednesday during a friendly against Utrecht in 1995 and, after watching the match, guest of honour Johan Cruyff claimed that the youngster was destined to become the next Marco van Basten.

39 Michael Johnson
After spending much of his youth career with Everton, Johnson made his debut for Manchester City in 2006, and immediately impressed.

A skilful box-to-box player, Johnson was compared to the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

38 Jermaine Pennant
A real livewire when he arrived on the scene with Arsenal, Pennant scored a hat-trick in 10 minutes on his full debut back in 2003 after a £2m move from Notts County - a record for a youth player at the time.

However, Pennant went on to struggle with disciplinary problems and the well-travelled winger is trying to prove himself in Spain with Real Zaragoza.

37 Gary Neville
Started out at Manchester United as the youth team captain, winning the FA Youth Cup in 1991 and made his senior debut for the club the following season.

Neville has gone on to become a United legend, is the club captain and on the international stage he is England's most-capped right back.

36 Aaron Lennon
The diminutive winger began his career with Leeds United where his phenomenal pace and trickery soon brought him to the attention of Tottenham who paid £1m to take him to White Hart Lane in 2005.

Lennon is trying to make the right-wing position his own with England and his Man of the Match performance against Croatia recently has forced him right into the reckoning for a starting place in South Africa next summer.

35 Gabriel Agbonlahor
A product of Aston Villa's academy, Agbonlahor scored on his debut in a defeat to Everton at Goodison Park in March 2006.
Genuine pace and an eye for goal has set Agbonlahor out from the rest and earned a full England call early in his career.

His continued good form this means he is in with a shout of winning a place in Fabio Capello's England squad for the World Cup

34 Danny Cadamarteri
Cadamarteri spent his formative years with the Everton academy and eventually made his debut towards the end of the 1996–97 season, in a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea.

He became a regular up front for the Toffees the following season and endeared himself to the regulars with a goal in the Merseyside derby.

33 Glen Johnson
Certainly not the first or last fine youngster to emerge from West Ham – Johnson was tipped for great things from the moment he turned out for the Hammers.

A fast skilful right-back, Johnson is one of the best of the new breed of defenders that loves to get forward.

32 Michael Bridges
Bridges was one of the most promising young strikers in the mid 1990s while with Sunderland and a £5m move to Leeds United confirmed his status as one of the hottest properties in football at the time.

Another one who has been around a bit and now plays for Newcastle United Jets in Australia.

31 Michael Ball
Started his career with Liverpool but after leaving the FA's National School of Excellence at Lilleshall the young defender joined Everton.

His powerful and accomplished performances at left-back and at centre-half earned him plaudits at his club and a call up to Sven Goran Eriksson's first England squad in 2001.

I'm sure Buster Phillips will be number 1. Bazza Conlan number 2.

As I said in the bollox thread they also said about Johnson "However, the wave of cash bringing new players into Eastlands has limited Johnson's opportunities." Like it had nothing to do with his near 2 year fucking injury did it? They have really bad fucking researchers mate so obviously Macheda was gonna get in their.

30 Michael Carrick
Yet another fine footballer to have emerged from the youth academy at West Ham, Carrick was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year Award when he was 20.

A talented passer of the ball who benefitted from a move away from Upton Park and played a major role in Manchester United's three consecutive Premier League titles as well as their 2008 Champions League victory.

29 Sol Campbell
Campbell joined Spurs when he was just 15 and went on to score on his debut against Blackburn in the League Cup aged 18 in 1992.
In May 1998 Campbell became England's then second-youngest captain of all time - after Bobby Moore. A successful stint at Arsenal was followed by time at Portsmouth and then the debacle at Notts County - Campbell is currently unattached to a club.

28 John Terry
Terry started his youth career as a midfielder but soon switched to the centre of defence where he has since made his name as one of the best defenders in the world.

Immediately impressing with his composure at the back, Terry was voted the club's player of the year in 2000-2001 and has since led the club to back-to-back league titles.

27 Jermaine Jenas
Jenas began his career at Nottingham Forest where he immediately impressed during the 2001–02 season. After that single term with Forest, Jenas was sold to Newcastle United for £5million in February 2002 and won the PFA Young Player of the Year Award the very next season.

After three years with Newcastle he moved to Tottenham and has picked up a Carling Cup winner's medal and numerous England caps.

26 Jonathan Woodgate
The imposing centre-back started his career with Middlesbrough but found success after moving to Leeds United aged 16 and played in a Champions League semi-final aged just 21.

Injuries have hampered his career at every club he has played for since but he did score the winning goal for Spurs against Chelsea in the Carling Cup Final in 2008.

25 James Vaughan
As instant impacts go, Vaughan has made one of the most eye-catching after becoming the Premier League's youngest goalscorer aged 16 and 271 days with a strike for Everton against Crystal Palace in April 2005.

Currently injured, Vaughan is being courted by Derby County with manager Nigel Clough hoping to sign the player permanently after his

24 Theo Walcott
Walcott became the youngest-ever player to play for the Southampton first team at 16 years and 143 days and was named in the short-list for the BBC's Young Sports Personality of the Year Award even before his £12m move to Arsenal in 2006.

Made it into Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad for the 2006 World Cup despite not having played for the Gunners and then went on to become the youngest player to score a hat-trick for England with his three strikes against Croatia in September last year. If only he could stay free from injury!

23 Micah Richards
The versatile defender made his full England debut in November 2006 aged 18 and was the youngest defender ever to be called up to the England squad.

Less than a year later he became the the youngest ever City first-team captain in September 2007 and has retained his place in Mark Hughes' team despite the arrival of a number of new players.

22 Francis Jeffers
For several years Jeffers had everyone believing he was going to be the next big thing after making his debut for Everton aged just 16 and 335 days and then going on to score 20 goals in 60 games for the Toffees.

It didn't quite go to plan from there. An £8m move to Arsenal wasn't a success and Jeffers is now playing for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

21 James Milner
Showed consummate confidence from almost his first touch when he made his debut for Leeds in November 2002 and was immediately considered one of the brightest young English prospects we had seen in a generation.

His first goal for United made him - temporarily - the youngest player to score in the Premier League. Now at Aston Villa and has a real chance of playing in next summer's World Cup.
