I've not been this excited since we signed Hatem Trabelsi.

Not totally sure about a player who relies on pace and fitness and is 31.

As for NDJ, I can only presume we'd sell if we're sure another midfielder will arrive or if we received an outrageous offer. As Italian press are suggesting he's off to Milan for £3m, it must be the former.

The low fee makes it worth the risk, I get the feeling from the Inter fans that they all see Maicon as needing a new challenge not being past it. Many feel he will boss this league.

Makes interesting reading.

I was at Blackburn when he was running riot & I thought he was going to be fantastic, then he metamorhphosized into a big lump of shite in front of my eyes.

wishful thinking

Agree, it's wishful thinking ... issue with NDJ is that he is in his last year of contract and apparently wants too much ££ in salary. With Rodwell in already, don't be too shocked if the club lets him go for a small £3-5m fee. The whole mantra this year has been to balance the books, so as much we can get in fee plus as much off the salary books, I guess they'll probably do it.

I thought he and Dabo were going to be great signings. One ended up being made of glass, the other...

Wages will be high though. I'm not sure Richards' injury warrants this transfer & I'm a bit worried Maicon's slightly past it. Hasn't played for Brazil in more than a year, too.

£2.5 million for a world class RB.

Like said many Inter fans believe he lost motivation as Inter declined and went into a transitional period. With the right challenge he could easily peak up again as physically he is still sound.

Low risk this.

I always think back to when spuds played Inter in the Chumps league.
Monkey Face gave Maicon a complete pasting and that was 2 years ago.
Given that he would be deployed as a wing back, can a cope with the Premiership pace ?

Think Maicon at 6ft 1" may also be used as a CB - not a bad signing at all (although no official word anywhere on it) Has CL winning experience too.

Exactly the same happened to Clichy at Arsenal and he was the don for us last year.

Sometimes a change really can boost a player and Inter went to pot over the last two years, multiple coaches, multiple sales, they are only just dragging it back together now. This can have a huge affect on a player, especially a Brazilian one.

All this taken into account at 2.5 million, Maicon is a risk worth taking.

Get the feeling it was a bad day at the office.

Remember when Nani tore Clichy a new one when Arsenal played the Rags a year or two back.

No such problem after.

Have faith.

Already on his Wikipedia page....

And I might have a hunch who did the editing...

Maicon Douglas Sisenando (born 26 July 1981), commonly known as Maicon (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈmaikõⁿ]), is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays as a right wingback for Manchester City and the Brazilian national team.

another good squad signing, played arguably his best football under mancini - and it's clear bobby fancies this 3 CB's and 2 wingback ploy

Mancini knows everybody of him, here's another champion we desperately need to win in Europe! Maicon too old? Please take a look to him when he'll begin to train at Carrington!
