The official reason will be that a Romanian team could not be drawn into Group D on account of us having a Romanian goalkeeper.

In a normal way, those thing are determined by how many team from the same country are in the pots, if there are two, one will play Tuesday, the other Wednesday. CFR was the only romanian team, so they could had played in any of the groups from A to H.

There might be two compensations. One, not too much travelling (they have to go to turkey and roumania). Second, if things go to form the other teams will take points of each other.

Absolutely. We all remember trips to Walsall, etc. (York away, lol!). These are really big games and as juicy as you're going to get. However, it is not really what we wanted at all. We have to start way better than last years effort. The Rags getting an easy group is just beyond a joke, it's every time. City don't get decent draws at all, in fact very few down the years.

The more I look at our group, the more confident I feel. It is tough, it will be hard but we will get out of this group.
RM will be our toughest test, we should beat all the teams at home, draws or wins at Ajax and Dortmund with the only loss of all points at RM. 11 points will definitely get us out.
