Rodwell filled Hargreaves' empty squad place so we're still a man short in midfield with Nige leaving. I kind of think someone is coming tomorrow, maybe someone big.
I'm sad to see Nige going, I liked the little guy (don't tell him I called him little). We don't seem to have the same cohesion without him there in his dog pound.

I jokingly showed a pic of Alonso when someone asked if there was an anchorman with a beard other than DDR that we could sign...

I am really starting to have a new scenario in my mind. There is a possible explanation, that i think might explain why we sold Big Nige and that is this new system that Bobby has and why Maicon is brought in.

So we have a 3-5-2, right? Well, i am starting to think that Maicon is brought as a winger to replace Milner, while Mr Jaw will take his Aston Villa former favorite place in the middle, where many reports suggested that he likes to play.

So, Maicon as a winger and Milner with Gazbaz, Yaya and Rodwell.

I'd have preferred to let him go after this season for nothing rather than 3 or 3.5million if those numbers are accurate.

What I don't understand is, we're clearly selling these players & bringing in cheaper options with an eye on FFP. But how does that add up with the 3m quid we're getting for a Dutch international in his prime.

Steven Fletcher goes for 14m & we're selling de Jong for 3 or 3.5 or whatever the fuck it is.

What the fuck is going on?

No other cunt wanted de Jong mate.

And for some unknown reason MoN wanted Fletcher, whatever it cost.

Steven Fletcher had years left on his contract and his club were in the strong position of not wanting to sell. People must see things in Fletcher cos he'd originally signed for about £8mil I'm sure, don't get it myself, always thought he was a bit shit.
Anyway, De Jong wasn't going to sign a new contract. We have, what, 2 days to get a fee for him, if we're desperate to sell to get something down for FFP we're hardly gunna get megabucks for him. Maybe we should've just kept him, I'm not disputing that, but the fee I think is reasonable.
He also played 14 times last year in the Prem, even with Yaya not around, hardly an integral part of a title winning team.

Maybe that's true, but then we should've started negotiating earlier & made them believe they're not the only club interested.

Amateur hour, that's what it is.

Fwiw, I could sell de Jong for 3m on transfer deadline day. Just wire me Marwood's wages & I'll even drive him to Milan myself.

We are close to the limit for Chump's League places. If we do manage to sign another player or two in addittion to those mentioned, some players will have to be left out even without Nige.

This is probably part of the reason Bob has let him go.
