Nigel on his way!

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Dawg gone!

I'm actually proper gutted. Although there's a knot in my stomach and I do kinda feel like everything's falling round my ears in pieces, I also realise I should probably bitch-slap myself reasonably hard in the face, and consider the fact that this wasn't exactly revelatory, shocking news.

He didn't sign. Bob was concerned over his limitations in terms of expansive passing and adaptability, or so we are led to believe. Onwards and upwards. No pressure Rodders!

I know it comes hard for people to realise that actually Nige isa a pretty ordinary player who makes no where like the number of interceptions and tackles people think but the market has spoken. No one wants to pay decent money for him. Sad but true.

Really disappointed that he has gone. Not just an excellent player but a top team man on and off the pitch.

Gutted about this.

One of my fav City players ever and he will continue to be one of my fav footballers until he retires.

I would have happily let him see out his contract and leave for sod all at the end of the year. That tiny fee isnt going to look that smart when we have an injury crisis in midfield.

this is stupid. so stupid. even if he came off the bench behind yaya and barry, his loss in the dressing room and in training is immeasurable. i really like him a lot and think he's one of our better players and does very well when he's on the pitch.
easily top 3, or higher, true defensive midfielder (aka not Yaya)

i guess i see why he's going. he will start at AC Milan after they released Mark VB. Plus, he's out of contract at the end of this season and won't accept what City is offering and City won't go up because we can't throw silly money around anymore. So, I see it....but, I wish we could've worked something out. Now who is going to break Hatem Ben Arfa's leg when we need to beat Toon?

NDJ was never going to win us a game but he fought for City. I loved him and always felt more secure with him in the team. I'm confused about the £3m though didn't the rags just buy someone in his last year for £24m? Not saying NDJ was worth that but at least £6m and around £8m for a current international wouldn't be wrong!

How can we replace that experience and quality for £3m? I'm worried that we have a huge season a tough champs league and a tough carling cup draw with not enough depth! I can see Yaya playing a lot more defensively this season now which is a shame.

The worst part about all this is our Manager knows we needed more players yet the board/Marwood haven't backed him. This does not feel right for me!

I wish you lot would pack it in. I'm trying to convince myself it isn't that bad. That we're gonna reel in some big fish tomorrow. That the feeling in my stomach is misguided, or indigestion or something.

I miss his cheeky smile already. And without some serious shopping, that squad could have really thin bits, come the tough times.

I know. Ridiculous.
I'd really like to get a chance to ask someone at City what was the thinking behind this move

I will steady everyone's nerves by saying we have history as the biggest shock buyers of any transfer windows with Robinho maybe there is a Hulk or a Neymar waiting to happen?

Hulk is a big soft cheating shitebag

Edit: and watching him against us convinced me I don;t want to see ever see him in a City shirt.

Said it all in few words.

Even considering that You handles Your own language, I feel shite at every evidence that I am so much shite when it comes to the gift of synthesis... ;)

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!

i hope we have someone coming in to replace his position. Barry, Rodwell, and Yaya aren't enough when 2 of those play at a time. Maybe even all 3 depending on opponent and injuries.

I don't think Marwood would be dumb enough to sell him without some replacement lined up, even if NDJ is in the last yr of his contract

I fucking certain Milan will not have offered him the wages he turned down to stay with us.

He falls into a category of player that we don't really need anymore. There are better. The value is shocking though. Shocked there wasn't a bidding war, all top EPL clubs should have been after him.

Either he just wanted out to be able to play more games, or its part of a master plan.

He's been great for City but we've needed him less as the rest of the team and been more effective defensively.
But maybe he'd still be useful against the better teams - he was very important for the Community Shield win and maybe
he'll be just what we need vs Madrid and Dortmund next month.
Hopefully not.

Deal agreed 3.5m euros so only £2.7m thanks Brian. We can probably get Joe Cole for £6 if you fancy it Bri?

Possibly both I feel.

I don't believe for one second that Milan are paying him the wages we would, unless that is the reason for a lowish fee.

Re needing him v Real etc, I did mention somewhere that we are close to the limit for the Champion's Lg squad, so due to the fact Bob deems him expendable, Nige may well have been left out if he had stayed.
