Right...

he's also good cover at RB in case we need it. Which we will.

Proven winner. Cheap as chips.

and while he's here he just needs to teach Micah (once fit) everything he knows.

He has been the best at what Micah is still learning

a really good idea
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Has been a great player. However, not sure that he is still up with the high standards he set and coupled with our record with brazilians, i'm going to reserve judgment on this if it happens.

was reading [urlnp=http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/9510196/Benfica-22-million-rated-defensive-midfielder-Javi-Garcia-tops-Manchester-Citys-deadline-day-list-of-targets.html]THIS[/urlnp] article from the Telegraph, found this snippet at the end.

Meanwhile, negotiations with Inter Milan for Brazilian defender Maicon moved quickly, with the 31 year-old expected to arrive in Manchester on Friday after the two clubs agreed an initial £3 million deal, potentially rising to £4.5 million with add-ons.

Maicon, who played under Mancini at Inter, is understood to have taken a sizeable reduction in his £70,000-a-week wages at the San Siro.

Didn't expect that. Well in Marwood.

agreed. you need this kind of steadying veteran presence sometimes for a bunch of reasons.

Good signing. A good depth player and I have no doubt he will be brilliant conning off the bench if we are chasing a game.

It's either a master stroke on our way to world domination or a panic but that will upset our future legends.

Time will tell.

Where is the risk in that?

£2.5 million / 2 year deal. BARGAIN!

The risk is if he plays, is shit and costs us goals/games.

Don't like this signing. Three years ago fair enough but his best days are behind him and we're better than that these days.

Neither did I, especially when he was quite shit early on.

But he proved to be of some value and I hope Maicon proves me wrong and is the same.

Interesting signing. Looking forward to see him play for us.

If do not sign DDR, maybe put in a cheeky bid for Pirlo, just for the lulz.

This.
I think Maicon will prove to be a good signing just as Paddy did. Good cover for Zabba and Micah. I can also see Zabba playing in the NDJ position with Doug at RB (until Micah returns).
If the reported figures are correct, the deal looks good.

I think he will be able to do what NDJ did somewhat better once he gets used to it.I'd like to see him and Micah playing together.

Mark Ogden has now twattered that it wasn't Maicon he saw but somebody he mistook for him! Twat.

Mancini has been talking about Maicon in an interview though so it's definitely ongoing.
