Marwood Sold DeJong..

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I think if the name Brian marwood was banned from here the board would be a better place.

I know you're fishing Ted, but sadly the 3 or 4 posters attacking this like a dog with a bone don't seem to realize that none of us know the inner dealings well enough to pass blame to this extent and that they sound like broken fucking records, making every thread a marwood debate, as though saying it 1000 times will make people think they have a tiny idea what they're talking about.

Hey LAHAD,
Ain't that the guy who got mercilessly slagged off by City fans for fucling up the Kaka deal.
I distinctly remember tons of shit being chucked at him for his Rosler is a rag gaffe.
Nor did he win many friends for City over his shouting the odds that in New York bar.

And why has nobody pointed out that it was Cook''s negotiated deals that payed out too much for new players and their too high wages that caused the problem that we are having difficulty unloading them.
Wasn't it Cook who delivered us Hughes?

Nah, it must have been Marwood.

What's the point of this topic? Right now I don't give a shit who is responsible for what. Point is our squad is a mess. I quite like Rodwell as one for the future but all of the sudden he is our number one def mid and we have no cover. We sold AJ and despite people talking about it as foregone conclusion, Sinclair has not signed yet. We have no decent cover for our central defenders. And worst of all, the most pressing issue, cover for Silva has not been resolved.

There's about seventeen hours to go of this transfer window and if the squad stays as it is we can forget about challenging in Europe and league same time.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

These last 2 posts seem to inject some calm and common sense.

I am not particularly a 'fan' of Marwood but he seems to have become some sort of 'non-playing' Edgehill figure - at least with Richard (even though the vitriol was OTT) we had evidence of the mistakes.

People speak on the transfer dealings as if they have inside knowlegde - which of course they do not.

It seems clear to me that we are managing our way to FFP compliance - perhaps the self-serving twats that pressured Twatini to introduce these regs would be a more worthwhile focus for abuse.

He'd already agreed a new contract when we bought him, a fact people just choose to fucking ignore because it suits them...

Yep, the article said he had six months left on his contract, the article was originally dated a year before we bought him. I do like the way people half read something and assume they have their finger on the pulse instead of up their arses.

This transfer window has been the equivalent of signing ten Bernado Corradis. Has Mansoor had enough? Get Kinnear in NOW!?

Soc - Agreed but not signed, so what difference would that make?
Slim - paying 16 million for someone with SIX months left on his contract is even worse

so neither of you think that we're percieved as a soft touch in the transfer market and can be used as a tool by players to negotiate better contracts at the club they are at or heading to? Get YOUR heads out of YOUR fuckin arses

All the difference in the world, if a contract is agreed and he had agreed to sign then the value is up as if it was already signed. he may have actually signed it for all we know, point is the info was out of date and is taken as being truth when it isn't...

well.. maybe

however the point remains that we are seen as a soft touch, and stories like this, no matter what the actual facts are we are seen as an easy target to buy high and sell low - and it's mostly of our own making

One minute it's "were a soft touch in the transfer market" then its " for fucks sake just pay the money Marwood, it's only another 6 million "

We won the league, the club has been fantastic, it looks like we have successfully got rid of the players Bob wants out & will be replacing them with players he wants in & everyone is moaning about it.

LULZ?!?!?

What the hell??!?!?! I hoep you don't honestly think Mancini's plans for the summer was to sign Jack Rodwell and Richard Wright. You are arguing for arguments sake here mate.

I think Mancini would have liked a big name or two, which haven't been done. Hazard & DeRossi the main ones.

I also think he wanted players like Jack Rodwell as he stated we would be looking to sign some young players in this window ages ago & has confirmed himself that he's been watching Rodwell for years, so yes, he wanted him. Garcia is the bloke Utd were sniffing around (& the player they need) & the replacement for DeRossi, & a player Mancini clearly wants as he is paying £20 odd million for him. Nasty is a player who worked for Mancini's mate & we are getting rid of the clown, again something Mancini wants.

Sionclair is a replacement for AJ who Mancini wanted out & has the pace he wants.

Maicon ? Need I fucking even go there ? Marwood wants Maicon ?

So yes, 100% we have replaced players Mancini didn't want, with players he does & if Garcia signs, it's a fucking excellent transfer window.

Next summer or in Jan, we will fetch one or two to replace whoever doesn't do the biz this season & then we will just about have the best squad in Europe apart from needing a Messi or Ronaldo.

Ask Soriano, he's in charge.

I hope weve got a plan as this summer looks like the arse end of one IMHO.
