I seem to him playing out his final days in the WBA yo-yo team of the early noughties. Pretty respectable and not too obscure.

I might be wrong though.

I remember as a boy being struck at just how dark his skin was. I'd never seen anything quite like it before and I'm not sure I have since.

The £1 million someone paid for Lee Croft! Where is that £1million?

Could've been. Canä really remember. However he was widely thought to be on the road to become world class winger. I think Tottenham paid something like 5m (How times change!) for him. And that was LOADS of money back then.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Anthony le tallec
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

jack wilshere?

seriously though (and not quite on topic....)

i remember as a kid reading an article in 90 minutes about jamie forrester & kevin sharp who had just joined the youth ranks at auxerre - the piece made them out to be the future of english football. sadly, things didn't really work out for them but they both managed to have OKish careers in the lower league unlike cherno samba and sonny pike....

This guy for me is exact opposite of what is being looked at this topic. If my memory serves me he was close to 30 when he signed from Leeds having slowly built his career from African leagues via Germany. I remember he went back to Germany after his spell with Leeds and still did it and I'm almost 100% certain he was past 30 by that time.

Alright keep your knickers on son. Sorry if my post doesn't conform to your thread rules!

That type of response discourages people from bothering to post anything on here because you act like only what you say is right.

Any mention of Danny Cadamarteri yet?

On Danny Allsopp, he's actually done quite well for himself between MLS and A-League

Michael Branch is an excellent example. I was thinking of players who've played at the top level, got tipped for stardom and then disappeared of the charts. Danny Cadamarteri is a similar case.

Mark Kennedy got a job as an undercover cozzer pretending to be an eco-warrior - and nailing a few of them in the process.
