Agree with Ted ^

Don't mind signing Maicon. Dead cheap. Bargain really. A fantastic player when on form. Usually one of Micah or Zab isn't available cos they're either injured or playing in another position.

Could Maicon play NDJ role by any chance, I dont mean in emergency, I mean could Bob have that in mind?

Also this will be good mentoring for Micah I would rekon.

I'd lay money he plays almost like a RM/RW, bombing down the wing.

The guy is ace going forward, suspect at the back. Think of Maicon as Kolarov but a bit better... he could be amazing if he can find his top form again.

Well well well worth the gamble at £2.5 million though!

i think it's good business. A smart move for nearly nothing. Leadership. Experience. Winning. A tutor for Micah. Very pleased with it.

cheers

According to the BBC...

DONE DEAL
As expected, Manchester City have wrapped up the signing of Inter Milan right-back Maicon. It's all there, in Italian words on the Inter website. I'm sure the Brazilian will be looking forward to settling a score with a certain Gareth Bale when City play Tottenham. I wonder where this leaves Micah Richards, though?

This maybe frees Milner to play in the centre.

Hope he does well for us.

Bale left him for dead two years ago and he aint got any quicker!

A backup player at best and the prem will terrify him.

Easy there. This guy was the best in the world two year ago, one bad night with Bale doesn't transform you into Danny Mills.

Maicon could be our best value signing this window.

Think he will play cameo rolls, maybe about the same amount of game time as Patrick V did and do a job when needed. Good solid cover and role model for some of the younger lads!

WELCOME TO MANCHESTER!

Chances are he will be playing in a 3-5-2 so he doesn't need to be the best defender in the world. Micah isn't a great defender but he was lethal at the start of last year and that's obviously what bob wants which is also why he hasn't fucked kolarov off.

So is he back up for Micah when Micah gets back? What about Zabs?

That's not what Mancini's been working on. This is more like it (3-4-1-2)

Hart
Richards Kompany Lescott
Maicon __ Garcia Yaya __ Clichy
Silva
Tevez _ Aguero
