this weekend's other games

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I've watched all three Scouse 2 games this season. 1 point from 9, zero goals from open play, yet I've not heard one critical comment from commentators. Apparently they are unlucky to not be top of the league.
"Certainly our programme is a full one, but as a player and as a manager I've always felt that there is only one way to go into a season...and that's to try to win every game.... While we are in four major competitions we shall try to win four major competitions." - Joe Mercer

Dippers really fucked themselves by offloading carroll and missing out on dempsey.

I'd stick with my half time assessment, including of expectation that Scousers would have lost confidence in the end.
The game has been pretty even, imo, and as often has been decided by episodes: the great counter in the 1st half, with two appaling mistakes by Gerrard and Johnson when Liverpool was imposing their game and... well, can You call that bloke a stopper?

In a nutshell, we could even barely say that the difference has been made by the keepers alone, despite the Liverpool traditional sterility upfront cannot be neglected.

Then if You want to make the point that Red Scouse are very popular with the media, I mean, nothing to argue... ;)

That's what we would have done to the scousers if we'd lined up with our strongest available team in its usual formation.

They are shite.

Arsenal will get turned over again by some no-marks in the next few weeks, they are shite as well.

another possible and logical read of today game.

I have already agreed with the first sentence when our game at Anfield started.
though, the more I think of it, the much I believe that was an experiment to have our Best XI involved with 3-5-2 before Bernabeu (and most probably at Stoke as well)

Let's face it was a case of two points dropped by us against the dippers, not a point gained. We let them bully us where the Arse didn't. Vermaelen and Diaby looked good but their goalie and Mertesacker looked poor. Aguero, if he's back, and Tevez should have a lot of joy against their defence.

There's only one Ratboy and he's sat in the studio.

This Arsenal squad actually has nice balance and - gasp - capable goalkeepers. Mertesacker is very suspect but other than that I think they're a much more dangerous proposition than a year ago.

I thought Mannone had a very good game and made some excellent saves

Aguero is expected back for the stoke game isn't he. I'd rather not risk him against those thugs though. Maybe just 10-20 minutes to get in abit of game time before arse come to town.
