Def Rodgers.

AVB does have winning pedigree and people at white Hart Lane wouldn't appointed him if they hadn't known that he is going to mold the team the way he looks them to play and there'd be settling period. Also Tottenham doesn't have the kind of senior figures Chelsea had who were going to oppose change. Also Spurs fans have illusions of grandeaur but have more mercy than Scousers.

Rodgers has no chance. He is adamant on the style of play he wants to see from his team but has completely wrong kind of players for his football. You can see it from the way they play that their senior players aren't comfortable with Rodgers. He is sitting Carragher on the bench, which is right thing to do actually, but this along the role he is reduced to now will make Gerrard pissed off and if Rodgers goes head to head with Gerrard there is only one winner. Liverpool desperately need rebuilding from the scratch but their supporters will not have patience for it.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

FSG appointed dalglish as a populist measure to appease the fans. All well and good but they should have kept him away from the transfer kitty. any rebuilding has been completely bolluxed by dalglish frittering the money away. Carroll downing henderson and adam, for the outlay, are bad signings. With even half that money rodgers might have a chance but hey, cant say im upset.

Rogers may get the boot first, as Liverpool are the new City, but Spurs look much worse & much more clueless than Liverpool to me.

AVB seems to have a plan in his head, which involves some kind of Martian bullshit, & some of the players are doing that whilst the rest are completely ignoring him & playing exactly as they were under Harry; (whack it wide & charge) but without Modric, Kranjcar, or Van Der Fart controlling the ball in midfield.

Spurs' fans are the dumbest fucks on the planet, but when the camera goes on the crowd, you can see them pointing at areas of the pitch & waving their arms about in frustration, as they can see that what the bloke is doing is absolutely fucking ridiculous.

It's exactly the same situation as at Chelsea where the players clearly didn't believe in the manager. His only chance is that Bale, Dembele etc help him out with individual brilliance but I don't think that will happen. Bale for example is so far half the player he was under Harry. It's going to be very very funny.

Re Liverpool; there is nothing wrong with Rogers' philosophy but it's actually the same one that Scott Sellars etc are using to coach 14 year old kids. Persuading 30 year old scousers to suddenly change the way they think is likely to be a lot harder.

Rodgers' comments about having 'a 1-11, some cover players, some development players and some players who are surplus to requirements' were ridiculous. He immediately and publicly slashed the asking price for Carroll, Downing Henderson, who are three of the players he'd like to move on. All are now effectively worthless.

His adamance in ditching Carroll was bizarre and not a little arrogant. He's off his rocker if he thinks they can amass 70+ points without an attacking plan B. Look at the best teams in the league - namely us, Chelsea and the munes - and we've all got a variety of strikers with contrasting styles.

At least they'll have 60% of the ball in 55% percent of their matches. Great.

It's disturbingly Hughesesque to publicly diss the enherited squad, very arrogant and irresponsible. One of the things which was always one Pearce's plus side was the responsibility he took for all the team's failings. Even Mancini does it occassionally. To blame the players or the squad is just... I don't know, but to say the least unsympathetic.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Does anyone else feel as though AVB and Rodgers might have been better placed in one another's jobs? Spurs love the young players/project bollocks and Liverpool wanted a 'name' manager with European pedigree.

Sorry, just seen this. Same subject as two other threads I've just posted on. It's clear that clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal & Utd are depending on Platini to keep them at the top table. It's corruption & it's in full view of the public.

that's quite funny coming from an italian

I never been chairman of an italian club, though...

@ Nige, for sake of proper understanding.
my original point was deemed at BG, only. cause I think he his a decent manager at shaping a passing-game team (Bobby Matinez would have been better, but more risky mediatic wise), he has done very well with the trasfer window (1st one in FFP times, don't we forget) and IF/when the team will get some confidence on that style and respect/appreciation towards the manager efforts, the results shall light up all the sudden. As i said elsewhere, for several aspects, it reminds me very much of the 1st full season of the Bob's tenure aat City.

On the contrary, AVB is just a smart looking very young guy, sailing through the Roaring Forties of the most demanding Football League in the world, just as a result of one of the many tantrums of the SW Russian-Cockney Zar. How the Spuds fell down to that path is just beyong me... still once a bet had been made it'd seem safe to wait until the race is over.
Yes, I am Italian, but not an average one... :)

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!
