I don't quite understand why the media talk about Hulk's 84m price tag that's in his contract. Release clauses with high prices are common in Spain and Portugal to put off any potential buyers before the club wishes to sell. But more often than not, the clubs will negotiate. In our games with Porto, the commentators must have mentioned his price tag about 10 times in both legs!

Hulk looks a pretty good player with a few tricks, but I don't think he's good enough for us. The overriding factor though is that he's just a massive, massive wanker.

If Porto are desperate for money (not saying they are) then they could agree to sell him for 10 million.

I'd happily move to St Petersburg for big money. It's not exactly England or Spain, but the quality and the players in the Russia is definitely improving.

Does seem a ludicrous transfer for the twice reigning Champions, though.

Zenit are a club, like PSG, who are fully intending to play in European competition, especially the Champions League.

Interesting to see them spending so much money just before the FFP deadline. Wonder how they intend to balance the books when their highest home attendance is 21,400 (lowest 18,000) & ticket prices range from 500 rub (£9.75) to 2,000 rub (£39).

Another one whose hype is entirely unrelated to his actual playing ability. I admit I've only watched him play about half a dozen times, but I've never seen him do anything whatsoever that would justify anyone spending any more than a third of what Zenit have spent. I know he's scored a lot for Porto, but this just makes me question the quality of the Portuguese league rather than get excited. Yes, he can hit a ball very very hard, but so could Nicky Summberbee. Doesn't make you a great footballer.
