It's funny as well 'cause anyone who has ever watched Portuguese league knows that standard of defending is simply shocking. Players like Quaresma are stars there but can't cope against decent defernders.
their league is the perfect advertisement for attacking talent to go on display and showcase themselves though. They've done it right and don't pretend to be anything they aren't. Put the players on the top clubs, showboat the hell out of them, sell them at the apex of their value/desire to move abroad.
Many in that list have shown real value for the money, even the top money, spent though, haven't they? Even Nani.
It's a shame the Dutch league isn't doing similar things in terms of transfer valuation....i wonder why. is it because there is more parity?
