Rekik, Suarez, Razak, Pozo, Lopez, Evans, Hiwula, Facey, Gunn etc etc....none of them on it. Better I agree to give them experience playing in that than just loitering round the fringes of the main thing

Is it just PR because we have nobody other than Micah to fill the four club trained places on the A list and have to leave three unoccupied hence we are trying to avoid embarrassment? Or is there some other better reason?
Rekik, Suarez, Razak et al aren't on the B list because they are foreign trained and therefore ineligible. You need to be at the club for 3 years to qualify. Nastasic has already been squeezed in and to play in the Champs League they would have to replace someone else off the A list. I think kicking out other seniors to make room along with Kolo and Wright would cause some unwelcome turbulence!
I think you are wrong there - here's Darkhorse (a club spokesman it is thought) on the subject in another placeForeverinbluedreams wrote:johnny crossan wrote:Why aren't Guidetti and Johansen just on the Champs League B list like the other 17 club trained U21s?

Embarrassment? Wouldn't have thought so but maybe.
As for Rekik, Suarez and Razak, the rules for the B list determine the under21 must be at the club for two years not three. With this in mind I don't get why Razak doesn't qualify as my understanding is he was at the club in the summer of 2010 ( I do know there was some immigration issue with him that wasn't sorted out until March 2011 which might explain why he's not registered as being with the club 2 years ) The 3 year ruling only applies to 'clubgrown' players in the A list. Hope that all makes sense.

Therefore to qualify as homegrown a player must have signed for their club before they turn 18, or at the latest when they are 17. Perhaps that's were you got confused.
As far as the OP's question, why wouldn't you include them? It is a bit of a reward for those players just to be named in the squad. Even if they don't play, as a token of appreciation it lets them know we are taking them seriously.

are you saying that the club could have had Rekik, Razak and Suarez available to play in the Champs League if it had named them on the b list and chose not to?Foreverinbluedreams wrote:I'm referring to the B list mate, the criteria for which is that any player under 21 can be named provided they have been registered with the club for over 2 years. A player may be registered on the B list if he is born on or after 1 January 1991 and has been eligible to play for the club for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday. Players aged 16 may be registered on the B List if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years without interruption.

Keywords being 'uninterrupted period', Razak & Guidetti were on loan a couple of times. Rekik & Suarez arrived a year ago. I don't know what the deal is with Johansen, he's been at the club since 2008, born in 1992 & never loaned out. He should be eligible for the B list.
