The fiery star, who has been with Milan for a decade, is not seeing eye-to-eye with coach Leonardo. He believes he will be allowed out on loan with a view to a full-time move. Gattuso has been struggling with a knee injury for the past year but feels he has fit – despite being rushed back at the end of last season which caused the row inside the San Siro.
City are looking to add to their squad for the second half of the season and have been alerted about Gattuso's availability.
