Did we move to a back 3 in the second half or did I dream that?

Sadly you didn't dream it but it was the mere fact of going to a 3 but the way the team played with that change.I don't care whether you play 3.5.2 or 4.4.2 or 10.0.0 you still need to have 2 players on Ronaldo and you still need to defend higher than the 6 yard box.

If you watch Wigan's defence v the rags (which I was taking the piss out of at weekend) it was identical to ours & had we been playing the rags, we would have got hammered there too. In fact the goal Powell scored & the pathetic defending was almost identical to the goal Marcelo scored. Truly abysmal stuff & below Premier League average standard.

We were shite.

Agree , agree , agree yo cant justify defence first goal i watch several times wtf was that Marcelo push ball to right and player marking him just turn araund wtf was that , ok second goal yes u can say midefild shuld prevent that ball to Benzema but i think Lescot would better react there at list would make a free kick but let say that is not defence goal , the therd one is shameful, Zabba one on one going in to explosive Ronaldo he escape him going insade shoot and its not goal becose it was curve ball , it was because stupid move by V K who is by the way bad bad bad last night from wath we wanna se from him , duck the ball common.

The reason we were deep is because of their pace (tranny). If Richards was playing we could have played a much higher line as tranny works the flanks and would have had no joy with the pace of Richards and clichy on either side. Maicon caused us a problem tactically before we even stepped onto the pitch.

I think we've made some progress since the game in Munich.

Next season, we will win away against the strongest opponent in the group.

Because we still play like we are some second class team , sorry but i dont think that we should go in Madrid so closed up , wath was the tactic there like we will pass araund the ball and Real will let us , if we shock them with open play ther wingbacks would not come so easy araund our goal and ok we all shit on Maicon , Tranny demolish him but Zabba watch that all game and do the same mistake. We need to play to win against anybody and ewerybody , no defence shit when we have one of the best atacks in world , whenever we would loosing the game we have the power to come back , but in CL i have feeling that Bob is to much defensive , he said now it will be hard against Borussia they are top team , wtf we are, If we can with bad tactic bad defence bad first half almost win Real Madrid . Then we should say we are the top team it will be hard for Borussia.

I'm mightily pissed off, so much so that I've only now been able to bring myself to post. Not the loss, just the way it happened.
Still, that was probably the toughest game of the season so not discouraged for the future, just really pissed about chucking it away.

You may find this interesting.

He have point there but becouse so much def midefilds we did not see Madrid goal and they have chances so i dont agree i think Bob was outsmartet by that move m because Tevez was noehere and when more creative olayers come in abd we finaly realise hey we could win this and bring attacker then Real , witch was not Botherd by our attack got two goals and have huge problems so i dont agree with this guymReal had total domination first half and only because off Hart we did not be behaind, they complytly neutrulise Silva Tevez ,Nasri who cares that Kedira make few mistake ,Murinho have perfect answer on Bob first eleven witch was by my taste to Itralian , tahts how play AC in Real before , but AC could play like us becouse they have defebce Nesta , Kaladze , Maldini,Jankulovski and in front od them the beast Gatuso and when AC go in counter they have Sedorf who can cary two players at the back an they have Kaka pure Magic in that time so only AC could play like that with Real or Barcelona or Rags and win, course now they are shit but they have that periods before and one day they will buy 6 or 7 player at once, but i wonder from topic i dont afree with that analize at all.
But intresting to hear thenks i would love to have that show after games in studio analize and that all at list if somebodey have link in future of somthing i would love to watch that.

Just read this. Been away and only saw from 35mins into the game.
At the time I thought that the general throwing together of the team was the main reason for a stilted, disjointed and poor performance. Maicon - new, Nasti - new, Garcia - new, Barry - just back.. Too much to expect fluidity. Mancini should have played it safer if he could, don't know why Lescott was out.. did we find out? Doug?

I'm surprised with that selection we were not clobbered.

Gifting the last two goals was absurd. No explanation for that. With proper last ditch defending we would have come away with a win or at least a draw.

On the positive side there is no way we will be so unprepared for the next games and on that showing I'd fancy City to win the return, there is no way we will be in as poor shape as we were at Madrid.

Spose the Dortmund game tonight will tell us a lot more. If it weren't only the second game it would be must win game. It is a must win game.. but if we dont we can still do it the hard way.
