Mancini

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Not knee jerk and not calling for his head, but he is to blame for our CURRENT form imo.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say I felt the same leading up to and culminating in the arsenal loss last season as I do now.

Is he hindering us? Honestly, barring our record breaking football for the first quarter of last season I spend more time thinking his changes fuck us up?

Really, I want him to succeed but I've never felt 100%. Just wondering about the rest of you?

Mancini has the skill and knowledge to succeed.
He just has to have the courage to decide on our best team and structure and play it the majority of the time and only change when necessary.
We need consistency in defence, forward pairing and midfield structure and then this squad will deliver
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

I like shit like this, it's as if he's actually reading.

It worked last season.

I think he used this tournament to experiment and win but its not worked. He will learn from this.

Constantly tinkering doesn't work, that's for sure.

I don't like the constant tinkering and changing from game to game. He does a lot of good but his stubborn disposition leads to blunders a bit too often.
Will we get to the where we aspire with regular blunders and errors?

Like I said in the match thread..it makes you wonder if we won the premiership because of him or in spite of him?

This was the ideal game to get his back 4 from last year (yes even ripleys) and play his strongest team.

Hes starting to become like Hughes....not happy and this result is embarrassing.

It's fair to say that Khaldoon will not be as emotional as Cook when it comes to the management but I think he can live with it at the moment.

Roberto Mancini admitted that Aston Villa were worthy winners of the Capital One Cup third round clash at the Etihad Stadium.

City went down 4-2 after extra-time despite taking the lead twice and Mancini revealed that he believed the visitors earned the win.

“We were unlucky because we had chances but we conceded goals which we made mistakes on and they deserved to go through,” said Mancini.

“I’m disappointed for the result, Aston Villa are a good team but we didn’t play well.

“Our play is not quick, we want to take one touch too many – this is not good.”

City have now conceded 16 goals in eight matches and the boss revealed his disappointment at shipping another four goals.

“Conceding goals is a real problem, we need to work with our defenders because we aren’t defending well at the moment,” said the Italian.

“To play after just 48 hours rest is very difficult – we changed a lot of players but I think that when the situation is like this, we can do nothing but understand our mistakes and think about how we can get back to our best in the future.”
...Roberto Mancini...

Mancini also revealed that he was especially disappointed to go out of the competition because it’s the only domestic trophy that he has yet to win with City.

“It’s the fourth competition but it’s the only one we haven’t won and for this reason we wanted to win – we are so disappointed.”

I think he said that as well. The rest, it's just history.

We can never judge on a League Cup game. I'll stick with that for the time being.

We'll win the league, I'm sure. If not, and we fall outside the top 3 then I'll complain.

In public, he'll come out with some anodyne drap - same as most losing managers do. In the dressing room, he'll be fuming - same as most losing managers do.

It was a dreadful performance and the management, coaches, players and tea-ladies know it, everyone knows that if this sort of thing goes on much longer Bobby will be out - he knows the score. How much longer depends on circumstances and the Sheikh.

We wouldn't be the first team to have a stuttering start to the season and an early, embarassing, cup exit, but go on to win stuff in May. It's happened so often at the swamp, after a couple of days shouting, nobody bats an eyelid.

I suppose we're all a bit new at operating at our present high level and haven't had season after season of success to be able take this in our stride.

Instead of saying Villa deserved to win, he should have said we deserved to lose ... and that was the case anyway, we gifted them the next round on a platter ... I have recorded the Sky Sports News segment showing all goals, now need to get it on to the you tube.
