Martinez to put together DVD defence for FA charge after Old Trafford outburst
Roberto Martinez will contest his FA charge and is putting together DVD evidence to back his belief that Wigan get a raw deal every time they visit Old Trafford.
The Wigan manager faces a disciplinary hearing after claiming his side had 'not been measured the same way' by referee Michael Oliver in their 4-0 defeat by Manchester United earlier this month.
The charge relates to an FA rule concerning media comments that might appear to question the impartiality of match officials, but Martinez is adamant he can prove his innocence.
'I absolutely did not impugn Michael Oliver's integrity,' he said. 'I was speaking about the situation as a whole, and what has happened to us in our past four visits to Old Trafford.
'It was not opinion, it was fact, and we can back it up by collating all the key incidents that have gone against us in that time. Danny Welbeck got away with exactly the same sort of challenge that cost Hugo Rodallega a straight red card two years ago, so we are not being measured the same way.
'I want to be at the hearing to present my case, and it would make sense to have visual evidence to back it up. It wasn't an emotional outburst, and it never crossed my mind that I might get a call from the FA. I was surprised, because I never once suggested anyone was doing it on purpose. I was simply saying the reality is that not one single decision has gone our way in four years of going to Old Trafford.
'It's hard enough going to places like Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and The Emirates. If decisions go against you, it becomes impossible. That's why I said you need a strong referee, with a strong clear mind, for those games, and I stand by that.'

Martinez leading a charge for REAL equality and fair play in the premier league. Other managers need to man the fuck up and lend their weight to his cause. Push the fa's shit right in and tell them to get it fucking sorted.

This was part of what Mancini was talking about when he had a go at that twerp from Villa after Tuesday's game. Various whinging numpties amongst City fans were slagging him for it, but he was making the point that these characters all have something to say about his behaviour, then they go to OT & sit there saying fuck all whilst Ferguson badgers the officials to give him free kicks & send their players off. They are a bunch of hypocritical shithouses who are all happy to have a go at the Italian new boy but scared shitless of taking on the school bully & kiss his arse to keep in favour (Redknapp being the worst culprit).
This is great stuff from Martinez. Good luck & respect to him.
