DZEKO ...Good lad !

Postby carl_feedthegoat » Tue Oct 02, 2012 2:33 pm

Nice to read this.

Edin Dzeko has reiterated his desire to remain at Manchester City and establish himself in the club's starting line-up.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has regularly found himself missing out on a place in the first XI, with Blues boss Roberto Mancini preferring to opt for Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero.
However, the 26-year-old has still grabbed an impressive four goals so far this campaign – including the winner against Fulham on Saturday - and is ready to battle the Argentine duo and fellow forward Mario Balotelli for a more regular starting berth.

"There is myself and three fantastic strikers so obviously we can't all play at the same time so sometimes it can be difficult to find your rhythm," Dzeko told the Manchester Evening News.

"The more games you play, the more goals you are likely to score but with so many good strikers at the club, that's how it is going to be and as a player, you accept that and just try your best each time you play and that's what I do and will continue to do.

"Every time I see a paper - for what seems like for a year or more - there is a story saying that I am leaving City or that I want to go.

"But I've never said that so the stories don't come from me - I've always wanted to stay at City and fight for my place and my motto has always been: 'Never give up'.

"I hope the City fans, who have always been fantastic towards me, have seen I can score some important goals for the team and that's what I want to carry on doing."
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Well said Edin. Can't see him ever becoming 'number one striker' as long as Tevez and Aguero are here, but nobody can start 60 games a season so all will have a part to play.

As I've mentioned before, he seems different this season & I could see him having a big impact. In fact the 3 of them, Dzeko, Tevez & Balotelli, have all gone up a gear imo & all seem much more settled & part of the team rather than 3 hired guns.

There actually seems to be a really good spirit between them all too....like they are getting along on a personal level which has to help matters when it comes to rotation in and out of the team and their interplay on it.

Doesn't seem any different from the Dzeko at the start of last season.

I noticed that after Dzeko scored - he went running upto Sinclair who was warming up on the touchline and jumped on him.

It was Lescott wasn't it. Sinclair would've been crushed under such a big lad like Edin

He's such an enigma. At times he's a real fans favorite, at others people want to sell him. I've never seen a player vary so much. When he's good he's really fucking good- like against Spurs - simply unplayable he looks strong, menacing and sharp. But when he's bad he wouldn't look out of place in the championship.

More so than any other player.

He explained the Lescott thing after. Apparently Joleon said to him that he should get on, win the game and come and give him a hug - so he did :)

That was all. Nowt weird about it.

At the start of last season, he was great whilst he started every game, then sulked & did fuck all once he was benched; people making the excuse that his form suffers if he doesn't play every week, when in reality it was because he strolled around giving the ball away when he played.

Nowardays he looks like he's ready to make the most of every opportunity, rather than sulk, which is absolutely what Mancini & the team needs.

Do agree. When he comes on as a sub he's really really up for it. It's noticeable.

He's scoring cos his attitude is fantastic. If it stays like that he'll eventually force his way up the pecking order. He just will.
