Glad to see Milner back - he had a great game. Micah tried his best but was unlucky, and gaz baz added a calmness to our play even though he did give the ball away a few times.
Well done city.

This. Says it all really. Good weekend. Will be made better if Norwich can take something from Chelsea. Unlikely but we can dream !!

Barry and Milner quality in the middle and once Mario went off we were really threatening up top all the time.Yaya and Silva always looked like opening them up.

How the hell didn't Micah score.Put him in my fantasy team today as well today and he could have had a hat trick. Zaba superb again but how come he gets into such great positions but somehow that final touch ( shot, cross or pass) just isnt quite right.

this.

I doubt either of the deliberate handballs in their area will get mentioned.

SO:

Best performance of the season and first clean sheet. Why?
Was it just Sunderland at home or was it:
-Micah back
-Barry back in
-Milner back
-No summer signings
-No back 3

I feel like it is a combo of all of this, obviously. I hope Mancini takes note.

Milner and Barry together in midfield proved to be immense. Barry could sit back
and Milner could go forward and pass well but also get back because he runs incessantly
and WILL track back. Those 2 in midfield can let Yaya, our best player, go forward, his best position.

I also tend to think Silva plays better without Nasri clogging up his spaces..but that may just be me.

Mancini is gonna have some issues choosing between Zaba and Micah as both look fantastic and Zaba
has put in quite a shift while Micah has been out.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Great display of power running and interchanging which made Sunderland look the poor team they are.Great to see Micah thoroughly enjoying himself. Disappointed we didn't get six.

Gabby might do a feature on face hair in the squad this week since she did kit colour last week.

Fucking hell i have missed seeing that.

I was baffled by the selection but they stepped up. Was zaba as awesome as i think he was?.

Also no kompany and a clean sheet, who'd of thunk it. Now hopefully he will get his bulbous fucking head sorted and fix his shit up.

Barry & Milner in front of our defence has been definitely the best pairing I've seen at City this season. Allows Yaya to push forward more too. Hope they get a chance to build on this at West Brom after the international break.

You're right as always Carl. I mean, Sunderland would be able to match Borrussia stride for stride wouldn't they?

I doubt any man city fan has been nervous about our backline today....not one, whereas the last half dozen games we have been shitting it........whats the common denominator?????

Herr Gen., You may find some clues on here, if arsed... ;)

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

The opposition playing only one striker. And a shit one at that.

Yeah we can't really make conclusions about defending based on this game. our back line was never troubled and we kept a clean sheet which was good... but it was at home vs Sunderland who played with just one striker. more of the same please
