Nicolas Anelka

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

memories of gold fish.

Le Sulk was not renowned for his tracking back.
His country never saw the best of him after he fell out with Santini AND Domenech
He agitated for move after move
and he wanted v little to do with his teammates most of the time

great player mind. When he wanted

deja vu?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Over tevez definitely. Dzeko probably not. Aguero no chance. Balotelli definitely. A 22-year-old Elk, yes.

He was great until he found out Keegan was going to sell him, and he would track back, not as much as the Goat but, I witnessed it when we were down a man.

Anelka played 100% for a short while then, 75%, then, 50% etc.

And all of our strikers now are a class above him.

In the league:

23 in 65 for Arsenal.

2 in 19 for Real.

10 in 39 for PSG

4 in 20 for Liverpool

37 in 89 for City

14 in 39 for Fenerbace

22 in 53 for Bolton

37 in 125 for Chelsea

14 in 69 for France.

Had a few decent spells here and there in his career, the best of which was probably at City, but considering the quality of some of the teams he played in, his record stinks, especially at international level.

Not fit to lace the boots of any of our current strikers.

Spot on, Adebayor was miles worse than Anelka for being offside. If it wasn't for the halfway line he'd have been offside even more ...

I use the word "yous" all the time in speech. Strange thing to get annoyed about. The "all the other imbeciles" remark was a bit harsh too. This Ian Wright fella's always seemed OK despite the rubbish username.

Benjani literally just stood offside and occasionally walked back onside.
