Also odd that after Mike Dean reffed Utd's 3-2 defeat to Spurs, he was "demoted" to a lower league game the following week for no reason. Apparently there are ceratin parties out there, looking at Utd's ref rotation and why after any defeat for them the Ref is punished/demoted or never refs them again. The clear accusation is that those fuclers are picking their own refs, and with Gill now FA Vice Chairman the plot thickens.

Thankfully Im reliably informed that certain people are aware of whats going on, especially those in the media.

Clattenburg's previous game for the rags was a 4-1 defeat at West Ham and he didn't get another of their games that season. Then the 1-6 and nothing since. When you think that's two games in about 80, ignoring any cup games, you do have to wonder what the odds are, considering there aren't that many premier league referees.

It's the ball up his shirt that annoys me. He must have passed the fitness tests, which mean they must be too easy. The ref must run further than anyone except a couple of midfielders in any game, yet he's a middle aged bloke with a beer belly. Not the only one either.

Useless again today. Yacob should have had a second yellow for foul on Tevez and as for Milner being sent off ridiculous with Lescott covering. Even the 4th official saw Mancini's point of view on that one. 10 vs 12 for 3/4s of the game because of that clown! Bring back Andy Durso

It was a clear sending off. Being a yard behind the attacker isn't covering

But Lescott wasn't covering though.

Clattenberg isn't a great ref by any means, but he got that decision correct (unfortunately).

If it was the other way round and one of our strikers was fouled in a similar situation, I'd have expected a red card to be shown.

Exactly too many with blue tinted specs on here.

diagonal covering has been invented to cut the pitch short when covering. Long was carrying the ball while Lescott was running full steam, just a yard back, as You rightly noted.
I am not claiming that he would have sorted it for certain, but these situations are universally reckoned to be not "clear goalscoring opportunities".

I concede that's not the brightest sample of conspiracy, tho.

That was as clear a goal scoring opportunity as you are likely to see. Diagonal covering is bollox especially a yard behind the ball

I am aware that I am widely in minority on that. Still I can't help but thinking I am right. I saw dozens of those situations ruled with a yellow, just because there was a faster defender tracking back in diagonal. Perhaps it's just my fucking continental frame of mind...

Although I don't give a shit if I am right or wrong, cuz City came back in imperious style. and that's all it counts for me and You.

Gillie,
Forgive me for mentioning this but would you not sorta expect blue tinted specs on a City forum?

jus askin.

...and for the record, it wasn't a sending off. Didn't the ref know that the player fouled was a sken eyed git and would never have scored against Hart in a month of Wednesdays. Blue tinted?...who?...me?

Penalty not given for Fortune's hand foul - and sending off him immediately! - at 60° minute: this is in my own opinion the worst mistake Clattenbeast made last Saturday at the Hawthorns!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!
